Smooth rotors and replacements
Smooth rotors and replacements
I have never had nice looking brake rotors the 7 years I've owned my SS. They always end up grooved and rusty. I have no doubt it's my fault for not installing everything properly. I'm getting ready to replace the rear calipers, pads and rotors and I have some concerns.
Does the oem manual call for lubing the pads and brackets? I remember this last set I installed were nearly impossible to fit the pads into the metal clips. I think it being so tight is what caused my issues. So how easily should the pads slide in that bracket? The last biggy is when I replace the calipers I can't bleed the system w/out having the handheld programmer deal right? I tried to bleed a buick ABS system and it was virtually impossible w/out the diagnostic tool. If I do the job I want to do it right so if I'm missing anything important please tell me I'm an idiot.
