SS/SC springs and struts on LT

I've done some looking around on here about putting the SS suspension on my LT sedan. I had a Cougar that I did some suspension work to that when I put Eibach drop springs on, I had to replace spring seats and mounts due to different configurations. Do I need to replace all the mounting parts (mounts, seats, etc) to put the SS springs, struts, and shocks on the LT? Also, what kind of ride quality improvement will I gain if any? I've seen some people say that by putting SS springs on the car sits funny and someone even recommended that just the SS rear springs be installed. Does putting SS springs on in fact make the car sit funny? Does anyone have pictures of a before and after install showing the difference in stance? In my looking on here I haven't found many of these answers.

No need to replace anything, all springs made for cobalts fit all trim levels. You could put LS springs on an SS if you wanted to. It doesn't sit that weird from what I've seen, they will just lower you about half an inch.

It will lower you compareds to your current suspension and will be an upgrade in performance for you, however, they aren't lowering springs and the car will still sit on the tall side. It also depends on if you go SS/SC or SS/TC springs, as there is a difference in those as well.

I've had both on my SS, as well as an aftermarket lowering spring (all on SS/SC struts). The SSC lowering springs had the best performance, SS/TC were 2nd in performance and SS/SC were 3rd. The stance was also different on all 3, see below.

Here are some pics of the same car (mine) on the different setups w/ the same wheels/tires, etc... so you can see the difference.

Stock SS/SC Springs:

SSC Lowering Springs (my personal favorite from every aspect)

(Stock SS/TC in back, my car in front)

Stock SS/TC springs

Hope that helps.

So putting SS/SC stock springs on my LT would only lower it about a half inch? So.. not even worth it?

Nah not really worth it, drop is minimal at best. For as much work as it takes to swap springs. You might as well spend a little more and get some actual lowering springs

Also, how bad is it or how long would it take for me to need to upgrade the struts after installing Sportlines?

Depends on road conditions, but I wouldn't expect them to last past 100,000 miles in any condition

Well if they last 100,000 miles... I will definitely have them upgraded by then.

Would like the next 50,000 miles on them be fine? I drive average, maybe a little more aggresive.

Hard to tell really. I'd give it a most likely 25,000 or so, but anything over that is just running on borrowed time
