SSC Springs & Bumpstop ?'s

I'm getting ready to install my SSC springs tomorrow. There are no instructions included with the kit, so I was just wondering what everyone did with their bumpstops. I've installed springs before and usually you get directions on how much to trim the bumpstops to. I've already got one suggestion to cut about 1/2" off each bumpstop. Thanks ahead of time.

1. Did you cut them, and if so how much?
2. Did you leave them as is, and if so have you bashed them at all yet?

Bump!

I did not cut mine and the SSC springs have been on for 15,000 kms without problem.

You do not have to cut your bumpstops. I didn't have to. The coils of the rear springs do not touch at all. Sorry i dont have any pics but you can look in the how-to-do section and there are pics and a how to on these springs.

If you have any questions, PM me.

With my Sportlines I never cut the bumpstops. No issues.

Man I wish there was directions included now! Not for the install because that's easy, but more so for the bumpstops! It seems we're all over the place on bumpstops now! No pun intended! I read the how-to on the springs already, and those threads got into the same question: To cut or not to cut?

Eibach calls for a 30mm trim up front and 13mm trim in the rear with the Sportlines for the Cobalt. I know that I had to trim the ones on my Z24 when I installed my Eibach Sportlines on it.

Great comments gents, please keep them coming

Looks like you cut more than half off?

Blah, on a second look, it appears to be just ABOUT half.

I didn't cut the bumstops at all when I installed the springs yesterday. I don't think the car is low enough to worry about it, but I'll do some more driving and see. The rear would be easy to do anyhow. I took it out for a ride yesterday and the SSC springs rock. There is hardly any body roll now, the new tire and wheel setup just want to grip the ground even more, and the has an aggressive stance now! Ride is still very smooth and about 98% stock like.
