PN in question is not there. I dunno, am I missing it still? ctrl+f 19181631 on this page see where ya find it. Or go to search this thread and search the posts that contain that pn or search the suspension forum.

EDIT: I looked at the cobalt suspension parts listed on CED again, they do list 19181631 BUT they list another PN for the opposite fe5 strut 19181251. %$^#

EDIT #2: I do trust mavens post, that is why I am asking here wether or not the new pn is going to work / whats the difference.

EDIT #3: I emailed cx service at GMPD and they wrote back on 09 cobalt ss struts/shocks:

19181251 driver's side front suspension strut

19181631 passenger's side front suspension strut

25793745 rear shock absorber, purchase as needed

Part numbers do routinely change, I havent updated that post because i dont have time to keep constantly updating, but the numbers I list will give you the original number and if its been supersceded that info should be easy to find out from where you buy your parts. I dont know that the price has dropped.

I found it on GMPD or gmpartsdirect.com...I put in the original part number and it let me know it had been updated with the new part number. *shrugs* Sorry it was confusing for you.

I work in a research (networking tech related) position and one thing I know is, don't guess. Next time you have a question, I will respond accordingly..
Since the dealer had not mentioned anything about updated parts and printed me out a quote with older parts numbers this raised a flag when I went to GMPD (same day). Guessing is not an option and accountability is 100% (specially when its my stuff )
I will say that GMPD did add some value to my purchase by replying with a screenshot of a tool they have access to with the old PNs translated into what I posted. Yay for GMPD's help and price.

And you were incorrect, the pn in question was not listed, could you please search next time?

And GMPD is more expensive than GMPartsOnline.net on most things. Price of GMPD is cheaper, but shipping is more and GMPO.net is more for parts, but cheaper for shipping...generally though, GMPO.net is going to be the cheapest of the three (CED being the third).

N/M I guess...I just did this on GMPO and the price is what it was...now GMPD is only $305 shipped to me where as it used to be a little over $375. GMPO is $373 like it used to be though.

GMPD must have lowered their prices now.

You can keep that 'cookie'.

It is in your own post, and multiple folks have confirmed it. If you 'search' you will find the part number 19181631 in a few other posts as well. When the part number gets updated so does the parts database. The dealer, if you give them the old part number will give you a heads up and say this is the new part number. Which is a hell of a lot better than trying to order Cisco parts. If that part number changes there are tools but it doesn't automatically give you the new one. At GM for now it has and does.

At gmpartsdirect plug in the old number and it gives you the new one. I know it is not as confusion free as one would hope but your other option is to call a Chevy dealer and ask what is the part number for a front right strut for 2008-2009 Cobalt SS/TC. That is another way to confirm and/or obtain this info for each and every part. Very time consuming where as this thread and the help of Maven gets you there much faster.

That is true not all part counters are created equal. Sometimes a GMPD dealer is better than others, but not always. Also, if there's high turnover in that particular dealerships parts department your service can suffer.

Now I don't wanna go trough 14 pages, neither will I make a useless tread on it, I just want to know if the FE5 front end links will fit on a FE1 suspension cause mines are done and I got to change them. I'm also droped on sportlines, if it changes anything.

Yes theyll fit, but you have to replace in pairs.....you cant mix and match.

would i benefit from getting the FE5 springs and shocks/struts put on my 08 G5 GT (LE3)?

also, i have had sportlines for about 15k miles and whenever i turn left i can feel like a pop in the steering wheel and underneath my feet in the floorboard, does anyone know what could be causing this?

^^^ i asked him before and they will... and im not sure if there is a plain old specs and differences thread or not but does anyone know if the ss lsd trans (mu3??) will bolt up to any of the ecotecs? just a thought, but i would like to autox which is why im starting with my suspension, but i really would like lsd anyway...?anyone?

opps, forgot to add, stock wheel offsets in sticky would be nice(wink wink)

Ok, i just read through all 14 pages to determine my options and I'll post my question here for recommendations/corrections.

I have a 2007 LT. I beleive it therefore has Fe1 suspension (please correct me if I'm wrong)

I need to replace the bushings and am considering gettings these:

It says there only fit on Fe5 control arms. So my options are:

1.) Replace the bushings with oem stock bushings and have them replaced again in another 30,000 km....

2.) Put on the above mentioned bushings that will last longer/forever (I'm still assuming this won't work since it says I need Fe5)

3.) upgrade to Fe5 control arms and get those bushings installed

I hope Maven is still around since it seems like he knows his ****, but help by anyone would be much appreciated! Thanks is advance.

In order to use the OTTP CABs youll need to get FE3 or FE5 arms. OTTP should be aable to help you get the whole setup

Ok cool, thanks alot. I think I'm going to stick with stock parts this winter and maybe do the changeover to Fe5 in March or whenever the snow is gone. I feel like the bushing replacement will be a routine procedure if I stick with stock parts, and I don't feel like paying $500 in labour to do it every 30,000km.

^^ it will... i hav had both of mine done i think twice, and since im putting on fe5 hubs and brakes and such, i might as well spend a little more and do it right w carms and scabs. Maven, will ottp order c-arms for us for decent prices or is it possible to get them cheaper elsewhere? im doing my 5 lug swap on a tight budget in the spring and am starting the parts collecting process so any and all info is greatly appreciated...

k...just looked at zzp and they say they have chrommoly tubular c arms coming soon....should i hold out for those??? i would prefer to wait and do it right and hardcore from the beginning on this....????????????

I have a 2006 cobalt ss/na 2.4...i have kyb shocks..zenn lowering springs and a ttr rear sway bar. i eventually want to change the lower control arm bushings to the after market ones and i am having a big confusion with front sway bar links. I don't want to change the front sway bar because i heard the front one is fine the way it is, so i am just curious if the shorter fe5 links will fit my car? If so i will order the moog ones with the grease inserts. Thanks, tom.
