Suspension/springs: Powell or nothing?
Suspension/springs: Powell or nothing?
So I'm looking to change everything, it's all stock from the previous owner. Fe5 setup all around, from what I read Powell seems to be the best for springs?? Don't care about the drop, more about the performance. I have about 1000 or more to spend and want to know where the best place to go is. Sway bar? End links? Tcabs?... What the **** should I do

Don't waste your money on a strut bar. Or a tow hook unless you plan to be in a situation where you might get towed. Go with lcabs, YYZ v2, Hardcore bar, Koni rears, then if you can afford it Koni fronts. The difference will be night and day.
^^^ For the price the latest 2010 valving , brand new FE5 struts and shocks ; cabs and a rear bar when you can afford it will complete the picture. If tight for money CABS above all the soft rubber rear training bushing is wimpy.

this photo, someone thought the malibu non voided bushing would be better.
this is what 199 gets you; cross axis joint

and this is what stock bushings look like when they are ....toast

no more v.1. depends on what you are doing. out and out track, I suspect v.1 give you slight edge. driver mod trumps the difference.
v.2 is nice trim height/rake for folks who care about that.

gloria@powellraceshop.com or tom@cratenenginedepot.com. They ship out of the same location. It depends on if you want to support Tom's or Gloria's retirement fund...
the v1s were the first version and were bound to run out eventually. people cried about the ride height so some adjustments were made for the v2 to get a slightly different ride height. since the initial batch is gone allyou can get is the v1.
I have YYZ v1 with koni rears and stock replacement OEM KYB struts....hands down you can not go worng with that set up or with that John is suggesting....since I got laid off this past sunday my plans are on hold but as soon as I have the money Im getting Johns hardcore bar and buying the koni front with some aftermarket bushings for the front anti roll bar just to replace the stocks which have over 93k....and will install them at the same time...

So if I get the shocks and struts from John there just OEM FE5 parts? Is it worth going with koni?

We do import parts from CED for Canadia customers...
Tire rack have the best deal on Koni's bar none at the moment, although a vendor here was distress selling some Koni stock they had... occasionally you get deals like that, someone bailing on inventory....
