tips?

Trying to replace my front shocks and struts. Only problem is the end link nuts just spin, they don't loosen or tighten, and the 4 strut bolts won't budge probably rusted in so they're soaking. Any tips to get these out?

Get some vise grips I think they are called and see if you can hold it in place. If that doesn't work then your more than likely going to have to cut them off for the endlinks atleast

Alright I'll try that thanks. Tried taking it off the sway bar because they need replaced too but I was in a rush and only tried with my 1/2" so I'll probably try that with my 3/8" as well

Yeah I bought moogs to put on. These are the originals though. 100k miles of rust and wear. Tried everything, even heating them up but they're too badly rusted I guess so first thing tomorrow I'm buying new blades for my reciprocating saw and cutting em out. Thanks guys

Did you let them soak with dw40 or something of that nature?

Yeah. They've soaked all day lol they're practically welded to the stud with rust I'm assuming because nothings breaking it free.

Go get a cutting wheel and cut it off from the swaybar side, and then you can leave the other part attached to the strut since you're replacing it.

They're cut out. Cut them out at the sway bar because the nut won't move at all and they need replaced but they still won't so I guess it's either keep trying or drill em out lol. Gotta love pa winters.

I used a reciprocating saw. Bolts still stuck to the sway bar so I might just drill it

Go get a jell rust remover, cover the bolt ends and give it a few then rinse off they should fall out better. WD40 isn't that good at eating rust, just preventing rust for a period of time.

I'll look into it thanks. I got one to break free just needs to break out. Other than that one sides done. Other sides still corroded in and ran out of time today.

Alright I'm going to have to go to napa anyways. These bolts are done due to corrosion and how hard I had to hammer em. Anyone know the part# because I can't seem to find em or would any number 120 bolt do?

Cut the top bolt out since it wouldn't budge and grinded the remaining end link studs. Rides nice, smooth and the steerings so much tighter. Thanks for the help guys.

True and usually at least for me more enjoyable. Have to redo the drivers side because according to my brother in law I put the top insulator in upside down and the bearings on top instead of under but that's a quick fix and rookie mistake. Thought that's how it came apart but oh well
