Uneven lowering?

I noticed that after I installed my Sportlines, one side of the rear of my car will sometimes be lower than the other side. Its not always like this, in fact usually it sits even. However, sometimes on a slight incline (like my driveway for instance), I notice that one side will be noticeably lower than the other....like when you stick my fingers in wheel well, the difference is usually a finger or two, but the front always remains even. I lowered the car properly, did the bumpstop trimming, and all that good stuff. I don't believe either shock is blown/damaged as it rides wonderfully still. Is this normal? If not, whats the hold up here?

How new are the springs? Some springs need time to "settle", maybe thats the problem, but I'm not really too sure.

the springs have been on since November. I would imagine they've settled as much as they possibly can, haha.

wow that long? I figured 4 months would've done it. Owell, it just looks kinda funky from time to time but I had the same problem with my RX-7 when I had springs on it. As long as it looks good cruisin' then I can't complain too much.

ya i just noticed the same with my car but mine are used eibachs that i purchased and installed them a day ago and have winter tires on and steelies...every other tirer is 2 fingers, the back passenger is 2 fingers and half of another 1, so i'm wondering if i need to settle these springs as well for a while even though they have been on a cobalt before?? also with the alignment, does it have to be asap or can it be after pot hole season??

mine isn't un-even all the time. Only when im parked on certain un-even surfaces. On a normal flat surface it looks fine. However, even with the sportlines, i'm unsatisfied with the overall drop. Granted, it looks nice, and a lot better than stock, but after parking next to a TC riding on Tein coilovers today at one of the local tuner shops, Ptuning, I quickly noticed what a better stance his car had. I eventually will switch over to KW coilovers after I get a few more things I already had planned out for my car done.

my front passenger side is slightly higher than my front driver side. I contacted my spring manuf.(progress) and they said that the car originally might have been higher on one side. I might be switching to H&R race springs soon anyway. I'd get the cobalt addiction coilovers but I don't think they will ever sell them.

nothing like bringing back a 3 month old thread back from the dead ... my car is doing the same thing on SSC springs, the rear passenger side is higher than the drivers side.. granted i just got my springs put in saturday, should they even out? Is the rear supposed to look like this....https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...neven+lowering scroll half way down the page, my rear springs dont look like that in the back. They look pretty spaced out, totally uncompressed. What gives?

I would think they would be backwards if i had done it myself.. but these were installed by a gm tech. My drivers side isnt coiled either and that side is lowered perfectly

heres the passenger side...

That might be your problem... most of the GM techs I have encountered know jack **** about this car...

Ahh not really... I'm just hating on GM techs... left a bad taste in my mouth.

I have the progress technology springs and havn't noticed any problems. I had em installed at Ptuning in Manassas Va. I'll keep an eye on em and let ya'll know if I notice anything.

Sorry, I have the Sportlines and love em. I haven't noticed any uneven sitting of my ride, but she is settling a bit since I installed em. Shocks and struts may have an impact also. If one is more worn then the next, that extra wear from the lowering springs may cause this I would believe.

you could also look under the rear of the car and make sure that everything looks seated correctly. VERY easy to install the rears. The springs get slid into place, there maybe a chance that they didn't slide em in correctly, does she creak or have any weird noises comin from her??

No creaking at all from the rear. Just the front right side has a slight creaking noise when you turn the well.. i guess i'll just bring the car in on friday and have the guy check it out, maybe something isn't sitting right for whatever reason like you said. He did say if i had a problem he would take them back out and put them back in.
