Weapon R engine torque dampener

I was browsing through e-bay and say an engine torque dampener from Weapon R for our cars. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them and if they prevented wheel hop at all. I looked around, but most of the threads were on springs, sway bars, strut braces, etc. Just curious for some input. It looked simple enough to install, but it was like $150. Thanks.

I have one. The wheel hop was gone. You might get some mild wheel hop in the rain but other than that it is gone. VERY easy to install. Just three bolts and there is no drilling. I like it and it was worth every penny.

All 3 ecotec motors (2.0, 2.2, 2.4) bolt up the same under the hood. The front ends are universal to the T. This will work on any car.

Here is the link

Damper works great ,but I think I'm not the only one getting unwanted vibration from it. Best for race and track ,unless I'm doing something wrong with install but I doubt it. like he said, "install is easy." I just leave the brakets bolted on and put the dampener on when needed. It does'nt matter for me right now anyway my ss is down untill new clutch gets here Friday.

Dragonsfire12345 ; on a scale 1-10 , a 9 only when you turn left , sounds like passenger side wheel is scraping the wheelwell.

Motor mounts do a great job. I had a solid upper and lower mount in my Sunfire, they definitly were worth it! Vibes were pretty bad, but it is worth it....

Urathane mounts hold up a lot better and offer less vibration. One of the best investments you can make is to have solid tranny mount installed to kill the vibration, the stockers are weak as hell.

I have a feeling that mounts will be breaking on Stage 2 but as long as they are covered under warranty then I don't care but personally I am going to spend the few extra $$'s to get better mounts installed so I don't have to make frequent trips to the dealer.

Did you try moving the bracket a little. That is what the mechanic did at the gm dealership and the vibration that was there when I turned left is completely gone. I was the one that did the origional install and had no problems. After the mechanic removed it to work on the engine it started the vibration. I brought it back in and they said they had to adjust the bracket on the top and the noise is gone.

I still have lot's of wheel hop with the Weapon-R kit, the damper did not help much at all plus I get the vibrations when turning left. I have logged many hours trying to tweek this POS, the 2 mounting brackets are way off for a proper fitment. Weapon-R does not answer it's phone or my e-mails I'm thinking of giving the Ironman developments brace a try.

Peace

so where exactly do each of these brackets hook up to? anyone have a pic? Or if not just a description of what it hooks to would be nice. I know it hooks somewhere on the engine and somewhere on the frame but i don't know where.

So to me, it just sounds like a good tranny mount is in need. I do believe someone on here did a poly tranny mount install in like 30 minutes and loves it?

cant remember who?

I saw that too. Looked like he was pretty satisfied too. Looks like that's the route I'd go for now. I havn't seen as much wheel hop lately in the cold weather. Wheels just keep on spinnin....and spinnin....
