Weird noise

Back in october I got new tires on my 2008 g5 gt, when it was in for the tires they told me I had a strut leaking some oil. It was the drivers side. Now when I hit bumps I hear a weird noise, kind of hard to describe, but sounds kinda like a rub, and squeaks. I am guessing my struts going bad. Since I highly doubt it is covered on my exteneded warranty.

What struts would you recomend that I change it to? Replace with stock or upgrade? No I don't have lowering springs. Where I live our street deparment sucks, and I live down a gravel drive way that the land lord don't fill. So lowering springs I hink may be a bad idea here. Thanks

It depends, if you want some good stock struts I recommend getting FE5 Struts. That's what I'm currently riding on in my cobalt 2.4 with pedders. Their the same kind as the ones on the SS/TC's. I'm currently looking in the future to getting coilover's. But for good stock struts FE5 will do it.

Ok i took it to the dealership and it will cost 950 bucks for fe1s on just the front end. thats for end links, struts, and shields+ labor. I called NBT and they quoted me for 450 for reflex struts, and all the parts and out the door with alignment. Are they good struts for a g5 gt?

Is your extended warranty one of our GMPPs (GM Protection Plans)? I would be happy to look into what is covered, although it sounds as though you've already been in to your dealership and are looking for other avenues.

If I can help, let me know!

You can upgrade to FE5(aka the SS/TC) shocks and struts for $291.02 from CED.

You'll still have to pay labor on top of that, but your dealer wanting 950 to stay on the FE1 is insane...
