Please dont whittle (trim, cut, shave) the bottom isolator, Please use a heat gun pointed at the center, it gets soft, and then a little silicone on the isolator and it pops on easy and the isolator is not hurt that way.
Other than that, Wangspeed is always 100% on everything.
PS I used to do that, grind and whittle the damn things. Blazin06SS (Josh Rodriquez) gave me the heat gun trick, it works ossum....

But whittling is easier, and it's a slower process. I think either is probably fine, but if you have a heat gun or SMALL torch, that's faster.

has anyone run these springs on an automatic? I have stances and have popped 2 axles in the last week, and there are no tranny mounts (that i know of) to correct this issue.....want something that will get rid of some wheel gap and better handling is always a plus

and Warren I checked the tab and its not like the book on OEM so I agree with you, Wangspeed rules: set the upper spring plate tab at 11 o clock as you look at the strut in place from the side of the car. done and done.

post above summarises the rear isolators; the job should take about 1.0-1.5 hours no compressor required on a cobalt Ions you have to use a compressor and a conversion package. I post pictures of OEM TC springs in trim height vs YYZ later today or tonite

For those of us paying attention, it was a troll since you mentioned that you had T3 springs in another post. Good luck getting shocks/struts that can handle them though. If you stand on the rears, you'll be lucky to tell if they compress.

Wow these REALLY DO ride better. I was looking for big bumps and potholes. Understeer wasn't a big problem with the Pedders but these, of course, are a step above. The car feels bored with any turn unless its going all out lol. As expected these delivered

exactly. I purchased T3 Springs fromJoe Aquilante, in fact Maven got some as well I purchased off him. I rated them tried them and considered myself fortunate that I sold them. If you race in SCCA, and cannot use an add on rear bar, and drive like the amazing John Heinricy, then they are good. For all other peeps, move to the back of the bus and forget it.
and I 100% guarantee that if JH drove our YYZ springs with our rear beam, front control arms, a triple X bar and wangspeeds Konis, he would not drive those T3 springs again.
It is great Fryloch that you acquired them, super that you like that they are bigger and stronger ,than any other Cobalt spring. Thanks to Bluenote for this YYZ thread. Fryloch, please go start a T3 spring thread

I'd like to preface this response by saying that I am in no way trying to discredit John or anyone here at all. I'll also add that I'm elated to see hard working people like John, develop new products for our platform especially those that improve the driving experience.
That being said, I would really like to see a 100% objective review/comparison of these spring vs. Pedders. Find someone that doesn't even drive a Cobalt but that drives competitively and put them in a Cobalt with Pedders. Send them around a course. Then put them in the SAME car but with YYZ springs and send them around the course again. After all that's done, get their feedback.
This would be nice b/c I'll be honest, I don't think anyone that buys these springs is gonna say anything negative about them. Not only b/c they would want justification for the money they spent but also b/c of having loyalty to Powell (well deserved loyalty I might add) and that adds a serious amount of bias.
As it sits, personally I need that b/c right now I'm not sold on these but I WANT TO BE. I don't like the ride height but I'd be willing to ignore it if I read a good objective review from someone. Again, I'm not trying to be Downer Dan or anything, just trying to illustrate a point.

I'll say again that immediately noticeable is the ride, he didn't lie when he said night and day. Theyre higher than Pedders and that gives them more travel and closer to stock alignment of the tie rods and control arms, which I was excited about even though rack spacers more or less fix that problem.
They handle like Pedders but the additional travel helps here too. Pedders did bottom out, these wont. Having only hit a few favorite turns so far I can't get too into the handling but ill say this: a turn that once caused a frustrating push at 60 mph did not tonight. Plus I haven't even aligned the damn thing yet so I'll talk more then

Well, the fact of the matter is that these are better, and I've pushed the car a few times now, and the harder you push it, the bigger the difference is between the Pedders and the YYZ. Not sure when I'll be able to make it to the track, but I'll be writing a full track review then. Still waiting on an alignment to start a separate thread with consolidated thoughts.
Tighter turns don't suck anymore. The front end used to wash out pretty early, even with the XXX bar. Now it's actually enjoyable.
Anyways, I have no reason to not speak my mind. John gets my feedback, whether he likes it or not

Yeah its gotten to the point where I'm surprised every time with how well the rear responds with the XXX bar. So good. Wang how do you like the twist beam bushing? I'm getting that tomorrow
