Mechanical Boost gauge reading different PSI
Mechanical Boost gauge reading different PSI
So I installed a mechanical boost gauge in the car because my boost levels have been getting close to 20psi and sometimes creeping over, for those of you that know my build this isn't a issue.
what is an issue is the mechanical gauge is reading VAC correctly and BOOST correctly up to 11psi and then being hung up there.... ive double checked the correct psi via my interceptor gauge, I probably will end up just running 2 interceptors because I need to monitor things with them and not fill a A-pillar hole with a boost gauge that only reads 12psi.... any ideas?

You either have a leak between the manifold and the gauge (most likely) or the gauge is faulty. The first spot that I would look would be the tubing connection into the back of the guage - I remember my Autometer being a little bit of a delicate install. The ferrule and compression nut with the nylon tubing never seemed to be all that secure.

I think the gauge is faulty, it was a cheap glow shift off Amazon... I have a rubber hose from the T to the back of the gauge routed the correct way and today I saw it spike up to 18psi then drop back to the 12psi
those are garbage. I bought one and it was off by 6psi
