Best Possible Tuning Software
Hey Guys,
My buddy bought a 2006 SS/SC with 20,000 miles on it. I am a GM technician and I looked it over on VIS and found that the car never had any warrenty work done to it. I also put it up on my lift and found nothing wrong with the car in any way(I think he got a steal on the car).
Now what we plan to do it keep things simple for now. I want him to just run some simple things like larger injectors, smaller pulley, diffrent plugs, and some other nameless things. I wanted to tune it with the HP Tuners Software, but was unsure on what software to get (the basic or professional). He wants to go with the stage 2 and the reprogram. What should we do?
I figure that he should just spend the money now, and not wait until his warrenty is up. But he isn't sure on what to do exactly.
Help me if you can on like the ease of using the HP Tuners Software as upposed to other software like the SMT6 or SMT7. Because I know the reflash will only take me like 10 minutes to do.

For sure, HP Tuners is the only way to go. Don't even try to screw around with those boxxes. HP Tuners is not too hard, seeing as your a tech I don't think you'll have a issue with it. Make sure you get a wideband O2 air/fuel ratio gauge, I have the NGK Powerdex one. It's cheap and works good and is supose to be acurate. Get the Pro version of hp tuners so you can log you wideband.
