e85 question

not sure if this is the right section, if not please move.

anyway today i finally found a gas station that sells e85. its like 15 mins away from my apt.

anyway i was wondering if i was to get tuned to run e85 is that all i can put in the car?? or could i still use 93?? cause i dont see the point in getting tune for e85 and i only seen one gas station that has it.

also if i do get tune to run it, do i have to mod anything special to run it???

thanks guys. might be a noob question sorry if so

from what ive read before, you need injectors/tune. I think some have gone with a diff fuel pump. Im sure someone will chime in and correct me/add to what i said lol

They can handle straight e85 u need a trifecta layerd hpt tune with the higher fuel pressure tables

You tune for fuel type. If you switch you have to retune.

I didnt think that was confirmed yet. Iam broke only went to 70% I think, still doesnt know if his bunk injector seal was a cause of him not going higher...

I have seen cars with E85 tunes run on pump gas, it is not advised though. You should only do that so you can get to your E85 station.

There is no point to get tuned and switch between the two fuels. Like Iam broke said you tune for your fuel type.

ZZP claimed E85, then said it might have been E70 for the winter blend. I'll try again at 2800 psi next year. No way a bolted LNF will run E85 on the stock fuel pressure though.

I thought ZZP modified something with the fueling though. Something to give it more pressure? Or am I thinking of something else.

I agree with you totally about the fully bolted E85 on stock pressure.

There is a point.... More power throughout the band.. Oh and you are saving the environment ....maybe.

Until it is at every gas station it will be a pain to get. I have to drive about the same amount of time to get to my gas station. A lot of us here have an extra 5 gallon race tank in the trunk just in case we need some gas. I advise to do that just in case.

Even though it's a tired arguement, E85 isn't really saving the environment. You give worse mileage, and it isn't proportionally costing less and ethanol is not easy or environmentally friendly to make. So really it's about the same, just helps local farmers more than oil industry.
