Husky Fuel = Lean!

So I was driving home a couple of nights ago and ding! Check Engine light comes on. WTH?? So off to the shop to scan the code, P0171 Lean bank 1. Hmmm clear the code and take it for a drive w/ LM1 hooked up, no not lean.... Okay, intermittent. Remove the LM1 and go home, ding Check engine light. Fk! Check code, same as above. Okay, now what the hell is going on. Check for air leaks etc, all the jazz. no problems found. My tune has several thousand Kms on it so not that. Hmmm, just filled up at Husky 94 octane, (may contain up to 10% ethanol.)
Okay, Im curious, remove some fuel from fuel tank and test for alcohol content. 90ml fuel 10ml water, shake let settle etc. Holy ****!!! 14% ethanol, and that is likely low as all the alchohol will not seperate. Hook up LM1 and go for a drive w/ code cleared. AFR is good, keep on cruising, hell afr finally goes up and hits 16.6:1 and stays there for a while. Once this is maintained for 2 min, check engine light goes on as Fuel trim goes above specified values. So filled up the tank elsewhere, no ethanol, and took it for a good drive, AFR now remains 14.7 and never any leaner. No check engine light. So much for "May contain up to 10% Ethanol" Gonna email Husky and see what the deal is. Just an FYI for anyone who fills up w/ 94 octane in Canada.

Which Husky station did you fill up at there? I'm very familiar with the city, and I know people who fill up there religiously.

Husky gad is the only gas that my car doesn't knock on. We don't have Husky 94 here though, only 92.

You could of got the bottom of the tank wright before they refill. I am sure the mix would be off that way. They normally try to refill before it get to low but that is what could of happened.

I filled up at the Husky truck stop out by Sask Place, or whatever you would like to call it. Yeah, alot of guys I know fill up there too and havent had any problems, first time for me but after checking it Im leary to use it again. I will have to see what response I get from Husky Oil as I emailed them my concerns.

You can call it the "Credit Union" center all you want...but we all know what it really is haha.

Hope that email goes well for you.
