PCM Swap - 2.2 to 2.4 or 2.0 SS/SC PCM?
I just bought my 05 Cobalt LT and I may sell one of my other cars and use the money to finance a turbo build... My question is can you swap in a PCM that can be tuned using HPTuners? I was very disappointed when i found out that HPTuners doesnt support the pre-08 2.2L Cobalts. I have been doing tunes for years so I would feel much more comfortable doing the tune myself vs. a mail order tune or a piggyback. Soooo is there ANY PCM out there I could swap in? Im not worried about having to start the tune from scratch etc. I dont think my factory radio will work as I heard the VIN is stored in the radio...
Thanks guys....

OK so I found that the TCM stores the vehicles VIN so you would either need the PCM and TCM from the same donor vehicle or have yours flashed with the VIN from the new PCM ....Im pretty tight with some guys at my local Chevy so if it can be done up there they will do it for me....
Nobody has any input on this? Or am I just going to have to repin the harness and flash the TCM and pray lol? :p
I been looking at the pinouts for the LE5 and L61 and nearly all of them would need to be repinned...lol what a headache...
Also you would need to swap in a VVT head since the PCM will be trying to phase the cam...
jesus it would be soooo much easier if HPT uners just added support lol...
