Question Random knock at idle and during accelerating

Anyone know why i would be having random knock at idle? Should I adjust the knock sensitivity? What things would cause this?

Getting knock at idle could be false knock. If you are truly getting knock at idle there is something very wrong.

its not consistently happening, its very random at idle, if its false knock then what do i do to get rid of it so it doesnt freak the computer out? Im also getting tons of knock during accel and its taking my timing way down.

Check your exhaust, header and intake and make sure they are torqued down right. If something is a little loose somewhere and rattling even a little bit can can create false knock. I would check the plugs too, if you haven't already. It could be that the knock sensor itself is bad or loose. I would retorque the knock sensor or just replace it (make sure you torque it down correctly or it will create false knock) and see if that helps. If you do all of that and you are still seeing knock, then you may actually be seeing knock. I tend to lean towards something else causing it because getting knock at idle is pretty hard to do... something in the timing or the tune would have to be fucked up.

well i blew off my downpipe this morning so maybe that was loose and i didnt know it, just had that taken care of so i will see if when im back on the dyno if im still seeing idle knock. I am seeing alot of knock during the other rpms too though so it might be in the tune. I also checked the spark plugs and they are good.

Can someone point out where the knock sensor is on the engine? I imagine same location for all, but specifically the lnf. I'm beginning to wonder if my random knock is related to it...car is 100% stock mechanically.
