I bought a spare PCM off a memeber for my 07 ss/sc so I can have that one tuned and then stick my GM stg 2 tuned PCM back in if I ever have any issues. My question is the PCM I bought was already tuned by HPTuners for 2.6 and 60's. Do I need to buy credits to retune this pcm for my car since its already been tuned or not? or do the tunes go by vin? which means I need credits?

i am almost sure the tune is based on the tuner... if u get it tuned by 1 person he has to unlock it on his computer... and by another has to unlock it on his computer... almost posative thats how it works.. but good luck

our cars ecm is unlocked via someones personal hpt cable, and only his/her cable.

if anybody else decides to try and tune your car, they too will have to unlock your ecm.

**** that means whoever i have tune me now i always have to have do updates on my car unless i pay to unlock my pcm on thier computer to?

 

yea rusty if u have me tune u like u want then u have to pay me for the credits and u will be unlocked for my computer..so whenever u need to be updated on the tune u would have to come to me or pay for more credits on someone elses computer...
