stage 1 tune
stage 1 tune
ok im a major newbie and sorry if there was a post about this elsewhere........ but i just had my intake manifold changed at the dealer cause the charge cooler was leaking cooolant...... now for some reason im constantly hitting 15psi when i mash. Getting to 10 is almost immediate then pullss to 15. after the car is good and how obvious heat soak occurs and it struggles to get there and remains constant to 12-13psi..... now my question is what if the tech maybe did the retune trying to hook me up with the retune but wouldnt my injectors lean out? unless stage one was already done and the coolant in the chaged air was affecting the behavior. its also been around the 20s outside and lower so...??????? some insite please i dont wanna burn a whole in the thing thanks im pretty mechanicall inclined i was a gm tech for several years. and how would i know if the injectsor were already upgraded with gm's? thanks again for any insight tha t can be shared.
well i guess if with out me knowing, if the tech did the pcm reporgram for stage one that would be bad correct????? but how would i know if the previous owner already did it the injector change and reprogram because it wasnt boosting that hard previously till i hat the intake man. done. the stock injectors cant hand the tage one retune correct.?
and green is stock. You can't run a stage 1 tune on a stock injector car.
The stage tune doesn't increase the boost on the S/C cars. Other things that can increase boost are clogged catalytic convertors and other mechanical issues. Those don't add power obviously, just increase the pressure in an undesired way.
