I just picked up a SS/SC this past week. Left the Mustang world to try something different. I went ahead and ordered an OTTP stage 2 kit, and also gave my local GM tuner (Jeff Creech at Carolina Auto Masters) a call. He told me the Balts ran $400 to dyno tune. He has tuned a GTO and a Z28 for me in the past, which only cost me $300. He told me the Balts required, "a couple more things", whatever that means. Anyway, $400 is the price I was quoted.... first post btw!!

also getting tuned is really your best mod. so dont be pissed off that it costs a bit cus it will put the biggest smile on ur face when your car actually runs properly.

I only charge 220 for mine, but there's 2 different Trifecta dealers in Austin so I have to keep my prices down.

Thanks man, its been fun so far. I can't wait to get these parts on.... trying to decide if its worth the $400 to get it tuned on a dyno, or just use the OTTP tune.

That's what I've been hearing. Like I posted above, I'm trying to decide whether or not to spend the extra 400 to get custom tuned. How good is the OTTP tune? I've never been a big fan of canned tunes, but if a custom tune is only going to get me a few more horses, I'll hold off and just use the OTTP. What's your opinion on this?

Sorry for the hijack OP.

Canned tunes (OTTP) are decent. They'll get your running, but are far from the best. Trifecta is the next step up. He takes logs and actually updates your car until you're happy with it, but you can't see what's happening yourself. At the top of the hill is HPTuners, where someone can do logs/tunes in person. Plus if the tuner's worth a **** he'll show you what's happening with your car and ask questions until you're totally satisfied.

Blueberry is in Raleigh, and he's an amazing SS/TC tuner, not sure if he does LSJs though. I'd hit him up first.

You can get most tuners to do an email tune for $150-$200 and an on-site for about $350-$400. What are you looking to get done. And make sure your tuner will be flexible for future mods, most are but make sure.
