tuning

I'm a 46yr old steel worker who doesnt have time to be on here everyday, with a love of fast cars. I have a stupid question, and since i wasn't on here when the gavel fell-
Why is it such a big deal for the tuners to be scolded, and somewhat kicked off of css.net just for being tuners? I understand that bills need to be paid, and the sight needs paid vendors, but i don't understand what the tuners were hurting.
They give advice, and spark interest on an otherwise dying car that hasn't been made in almost 5 yrs. ( which should bring in more paying site members) I won't go into who i am tuned by, or their lack of support, as it may be one of the ones that made waves about the independent guys being on here. I have always believed competition is healthy ( ie camaro/mustang) and drives us to get better and smarter. So if someone knows what happened, can you let me know. Thank you

It has to do with dollars period a tooner came on here and commented about making a good deal of money tuning and a vendor or two or three took exception to this due to having paid good money to advertise on this site. Technical advise can be given by anybody about anything just no $$$ talk. Only people kicked off here for being dicks

I was not in favor of the rule and I know no advertising was done it was just the $$$ talk that set it off

Yes a "tuner" got kicked off but not because of money or his opinions on tuning but because he was a dick to people

Seriously, when I made that thread I had no intention of it being taken they way it was. It was not meant to be an advertisement for me as a tuner. I was merely trying to give back to the community and to show off pics of my wife's new boobies LOL. It has not been the same since and I do not come on here much anymore because it made me feel not welcome. None of the mods have ever banned me I guess because they like me.

This. James is an ass and a charlatan (a fraud) I would not let him tune my lawnmover after seeing a bunch of his LNF tune files.

I don't think tuners need to advertise anyhow to get customers. They feed of word by mouth. Kinda like Powell, he doesn't even have a website that works. Look how much he's sold to this community.

I agree. I really did not openly advertise on here and I did a ton of tunes for guys on here. 99% of advertising is word of mouth.

Yeah it sold within 5 minutes of me putting it up. Based on the response I got I should have auctioned it off to the highest bidder. That is why I put it up on here and not on flea bay.

Yep, and as look as you have a good rep (which you did) people would continue to want tuned. It just kinda sucks how it went down for you because of a boobie thread.
