i wanted to get new cams when i turbo but was looking at jbodyperformances head kits.. take a look over there, is a very decent price as what i see.. they have staged cams and staged head kits.. pretty reasonable prices in my book..

yea my biggest bitch right now is tuning to, i have been looking around.. the smt-7?? will have to look into that.

The SMT will do it directly since its compatible with digital MAFs, the AEM won't. With the AEM you have to tune it via o2 feedback. Someone wrote a writeup here saying he was adjusting the MAF directly with the AEM FIC but AEM and the software version I have specifically states its analog only.
I've been poking around the AEM forum and don't see any indication that MAF can be adjusted directly, looks like the majority of tuning is done via O2 sensor feedback.

I'm assuming that direct control over the MAF would be better in this case, which of the two would you consider if you had to go piggyback, just curious? I'm kinda liking the AEM unit...

To your first statement, YES

Your second. Not really. There is no better way. All you're doing is skewing signals sent to the ECM. Whether its MAF or O2 it really isn't any better. With the o2 though, you are skewing MAF and MAP indirectly which will cause less of a chance of a p0068 electronic throttle failure which means you will have more success imo with the AEM. just my humble opinion though, everybody's tuning style is different.

No, its the signal sent from the stock narrowband o2 to the ECM. By modifying it, you indirectly adjust the MAF and the MAP values to correct fuel trims to whatever you want.

The SMT-6 or 7 will do both. You can wire it into the o2 and MAF and control the analog map(02) and the MAF. Although im still not quite sure how my MAF is clamped/controlled right now since i have yet to start tuning it. I do know i have an aux adapter, but i cannot remember the name. you can find it on PP's website. It allows you to connect more sensors to the SMT.
