06 ss/sc vs. 00-04 Mustang GT
I didnt want to start a new thread about this bc Im sure Id get a lot of stupid comments about posting it on a Cobalt site. Since this is the most current mustang thread, I picked up a new one this weekend. Its got a bit more umph than my GT.

And another thing...most people opt for the Mustang for a number of reasons.
1- We're in America, everyone thinks it's "cool" to have a muscle V8 over a 4 banger. If this is one of your reasons then it's obvious you just want to fit in.
2- Mustang GT's are the fastest cars most people will ever get to drive. In fact, MANY, MANY Mustang owners believe the car is amazingly fast, and it is fast compared to your daily commuting Geo Tracker, pickup, or just about any middle class sedan/luxury car. It performs well compared to these cars. Problem is, they've never ridden in, or driven a higher caliber sports car like a C5/C6 Vette, Viper, Lotus Elise, Ford GT, or anything of that nature so your 16 year old kid doesn't know the difference between their 10K Stang and a true sports car (which should only have two seats in my opinion). So in small words, denial.
3- Mustangs GT's and greater can easily be modded to make good power, and relatively decent handling. The car is pretty easy to hold low 13's, which is respectable enough for the street.
4- Many people buy Mustangs because their daddy raised them to think that Mustangs are the latest and greatest thing that ever happened to automobiles. I however, was raised that way in bias towards the Vette...and now that I know the difference between the two...I'm glad I was raised that way. So these type of guys carry this description..."die hard fans". Nuff said.

lol i just read the last few pages of this thread... wow. a few of you do not deserve to own any car, let alone a mustang or ss/sc. Cody ss...you are the biggest hater i have ever seen. Anything you do not own, is the worst product ever produced. A few of you others, including mustang owners, are making the dumbest arguments ever. "what'll your car do without a blower?" "look at how much power you make per displacement!" WTF?! do you guys not realize both cars are in the same price range, and put down about the same times at the track? Sure the v8 will have more potential, there is no denying that, but the ss/sc is far lighter and will out handle the gt. some of these claims and stabs are just rediculous. 400whp on stock internals in an lsj? riiiight....225rwhp on a new edge 4.6? try 235-240ish, and how is that pathetic? the 4.6 costs less money than the lsj does i beleive...more power less money hmmm sounds like an american car.... now on the other hand, people like manaki throwing out false info saying new edge gt's will run 14.1's all night...NOT TRUE. that is really the best time most people will ever be able to run with a new edge gt, and it is in no way a very common occurance. new edge gt vs ss/sc? Yes, stock for stock, from a dig the gt SHOULD win, but on the street, driving ability counts even more than it does on the track and there are TONS of factors. From a roll an ss/sc will make a gt its bitch. Now where does this put us? back to the good old spot of, both are good cars. Threads like this are rediculous and i have started to notice how half of the cobalt forum members just bitch, moan, and argue CONSTANTLY, while the other half are actually somewhat mature (the roasted thread where half the 2.2 owners claim a 4.0 can't keep up comes to mind). Are there ANY mods on this site?
well recently ive been out and ALL i have raced is mustangs 98's 99-04's mach 1's a 98 saleen, and every mustang i have either pulled on or stayed dead even with except for the mach 1 he had off road x pipe k & n filter and flowmasters, he pulled me from a 40 by about 4 or 5 cars but this was once we got to third gear i was dead even and then we hit third gear and he was gone he shifted a little bit earlier than me the other race that was close was a 98 saleen he was running a vf1 procharger instead of the stock one and from 40 it was DEAD EVEN all the way to about 110 or so then we shut it down but im gonna have to agree with alot of people on this forum mustang drivers need to learn how to drive i win at least 1 out of every 3 runs bc he misses 2nd or 3rd its ridiculous and its not just one driver its been like 4 out of 5 that will miss shifts like crazy my mods are : airbox with big k&n , stage 2 and zzp header and dp w hi flow cat

wait do you drive a 2.4 or an extremely modded ss/sc? if the second is true, it is slightly beleivable...if the first. YOU ARE FULL OF ****. with a better flowing unit in there that guy would be putting down more than 400 to the wheels...easy low 12's and from a roll, since it is a centri blower, it will OWN even harder.

When I had my SS/SC every Mustang owner on the net said I couldn't hang with a 99-04 GT, then I got Stage 2 and was told the same thing. I and many others here have proven that to be false on several occassions.
