06 Stock SS/SC vs 01 GTP
My friend Tom has a 01 GTP with a 3.25 pulley, 1.9 rockers. SS manifolds, high flow catback (not sure if the downpipe is stock) and a ZZP PCM. Against my bone stock SS/SC. We go out to our track and from a dig, 1st race he beats me by 2 cars cause of a bad launch, and the 2nd run he pulls on me off the line by about 1.5 cars or so and by the end of the quarter mile I pulled up right next to him and we shut down. I keep telling him that he needs to get a professional dyno tune done cause with his mods he should be a lot faster. But I was pretty proud of the outcome. I also ran a WRX with an exhaust and boosting 1 bar. From a 40 he was only 1.5 cars one me. I need to do the Stage 3 from zzp and get an exhaust/intake done.

I figured the WRX would be alot closer, but then again you are stock. Something does seem wrong with his GTP, because from a dig he should beat you by a few cars.

No he only sees 4 degrees of KR at best. Sometimes no knock at all. I think it might be related to the fuel pressure but some people have told him that he needs to upgrade his exhaust more.

He should rape you no doubt lol, my old 3.4 Pullied GTP used to beat stock SS/SCs from a roll before... From a stop I was still able to beat the same SS/SC after he got 2.9, 42# Injectors, Intake, Header, Downpipe, and Catback. Although only be about 1 car length.

Not to mention his AFR's are probably like 9.8.

Well I don't know what is wrong with his car. When he put the 1.9 rockers in it didn't do anything for him. It helped with knock for some reason but for performance it was the same. My friend tom has the 01 4 door and another friend John has a 97 2 door (i think thats the year). And the only thing the 97 has is upgraded manifolds. And he only loses by 1.5 cars. I don't know what he needs to do the the GTP but when the problem gets solved that car is gonna fly.

Funny thing is that a 3.5 pulley he gets the same amount of knock. Like I said its probably fuel, and tune. But there's no places to tune around here. Hey Infra Redline I almost have the VR4 done. Waiting on the steering rack to come. and the only thing that I have to do is have the synchros put in and buy a clutch w/pressure plate. And I can put the car together.

They don't blow up very easily lol, i have stupid issues with mine lol, first engine spun a rod bearing at 225k miles, and second one i put about 500 miles or so on it, but i think i didn't lube/install the cam correctly, and died from that, now i'm going to try to make it fast lol, although it wasn't bad before it broke the second time. lol

my old Regal would stomp all over my Cobalt w/o breaking a sweat
3.4" w/gb belt, 3" DP, u-bend and resonator delete, RAFLYER tune, 3.29 gearing, high stall, FWI, 180* stat, 104's, self-ported exhaust manifolds, shift kit w/perf. shift, fuel pump rewire, solid engine mounts, and spring blockers. I think that's all correct if my memory serves me right. It's been gone for awhile and I haven't really thought about it much.
I was destroying everything from Mustang GT's to Camaro Z/28's to modified GTP's and laughing the whole way!

Ya I'll let you ride in it. But first i have to get the go fast goodies first cause she's only gonna run off of wastegate pressure at first. Just trying to get her back on the road and then I'll install the good stuff.
