06ss/sc vs. g6GT
So I was on the interstate going home with my gf, all of a sudden this g6GT (sweet lookin car) came out of nowhere pulled up beside me and was giving me the thumbs up. I let him go by me then got behind him dropped it to 3rd then 4th blew by him at about 105-115mph and just kept on going. By the time I let off I was doing 135 he was abou 15 car lengths behind.
All this with 16" snows on. (I was a little nervous cause of the snows) I just wish I had my 18s on.

The smaller rims are probably lighter, so the reduced rotational mass speeds you up a bit.
Finally, why in God's name are you going 135 miles per hour on a public road, to beat a car you knew you would? YOU’RE GOING TO KILL SOMEONE!
Yeah, the only think the Pontiac was trying to do was understanding why you were doing a ricer flyby when there was not even a race. Hey, for fun, go outside and look at the speed rating on your snow tires. Running up to a speed higher than the rating of your tires is not really a problem as long as it is a short time (before the heat starts to really build up), but not really the smartest thing to do.

Dude, you just did a fly by. It sounds like he was giving you 'props' for your ride. I bet he posted on a G6 forum on how much of a toolbag some Cobalt drivers are. Way to represent.
Thats what I say. Man... dont give us a bad wrap already. We have to make a name for ourselves, rather than be labeled as 'toolbags', 'ricer-wannabees', 'losers', '****', 'dipshits'. Plus, your on snows... they are rated at like 100mph or less. Haha. Your lucky you didnt blow one and end up with a flipped over, jacked up, smashed to hell Cobalt. And 15 car lengths behind ya... NO... I sorta raced one down the interstate a few weeks ago, and he kept right up with me... all the way up to 5th gear... going about 125mph. And its not because Im a bad driver... 1/8@9.22 - 79mph. The kids that "try" to rep the Cobalt. IDIOTS!!!!
DON'T RACE WITH SNOW TIRES! I have 16" X-ICE tires on now and HATE them! I'm sure they'll be great in the snow but the car feels at least 25% slower than with the stock Pirelli's. NO traction, NO handling, etc. I can't wait for spring just to get my summer wheels back on.
Anyways a stock SS/SC will KILL a G6 GT. There's no need to risk a tire blowout to prove it. Wait till you're running at your best (with performance tires) to administer smackdowns.
