1996 ws6
1996 ws6
this is more of a question.
Guy last night says he has nothing more than a drop in k&n. Other than that he "claims" that it is a stock auto 1996 lt1 trans am ws6.
He wants a 25 roll. I figure that is his sweet spot so I say yea. He pulls a car initially and that's where he stays. All the way up to like 120 my front bumper right at his back bumper/gas door. I kind of inch on him when I hit 4th.
I want a dig. Slicks FTMFW. I win by a little over 2 cars and still inching away.
His friends say he's stock too but also claim that it is like the fastest lt1 they've ever seen. I'm thinking it may have something done to it that he's unaware of. Afterall, he did buy it used. Maybe like a gear, port work. Something.
Do those really run that good?
Just for reference. When I was stock last year with just a raised rev limit. I had some really good run with a stock lt1 camaro. So I figured I'd pull pretty good on this one, which didn't happen. I know if I went from my roll I probably would have won by a little bit. But I figured I'd go from his roll just to give him the advantage.
Oh, and the cutout was closed. So stock exhaust. I would have pulled him by a little more with the cutout open. I'm tuned with the cutout open.
bump, anyone know what's up with with this lt1 ws6?
I guess no one knows, or cares.

I was thinking it's possible for him to have minor headwork and not know it too. Like a small cam or something.
that's what I'm thinking. I pick apart the new mustang gt's and LT1's also. But this guy's pretty quick. It's the first WS6 that I've raced though. Maybe that's it? Or maybe he's got something he doesn't realize, or won't tell.
