A car blasted past me, I heard his BOV. So I sped up to catch the guy. It was an Mr2. We paced each other for a while, then I heard his turbo spool. I dropped to 3rd gear (we were doing 65mph), and I walked him pretty easily. Had 2 cars by 85mph. We come to a stop light. I heard him lightly hitting the gas, waiting for the green. Light turns green and I get an awesome launch (rare for me), and by the top of 2nd gear, I had 2 cars again. He then stayed behind me the rest of the trip on the highway, and when he passed me he didn't even look at me. Fun race, and that's two turbo imports on my kill list

dont put your money on it if you race another one, that was either a shitty driver or he wasnt gettin on it. Depending on the year, mr2's can walk us pretty easily,well from a roll at least, ESPECIALLY TT's. Just warning you, i got walked from a 45 roll by a TT MR2, i hit every **** perfectly, theres just no way around it but if you even see a lightly modded MR2 turbo..... STAY AWAY, mods on those cars are like mods on supras, they gain hp and tq if even if all you do is spit on them. good luck kid

 

I didn't know they made TT mr's. I thought they just came with a 4 cylinder.

 

My buddy has a 91 MR2 Turbo, with MBC, downpipe and 3" exhaust ect and I can walk him easily from a roll. But on the launch he just kills me off the line and I have to play catch up. That with the factory 14in rims and 205 series tires too. Their weight transfer is excellent due to being a mid engine design. Those cars are murder to work on though.

There isn't a TT MR2 stock, its just the 3SGTE with CT26 turbo. Its a "twin scroll" design which throws people off sometimes. Twin scroll design helps spool the turbine quicker. Just had to correct the horrific misinformation posted earlier.

That MR2 is from the base right? Red, with CF hood (I think, there is either a MR2 or a Red 240sx with a CF hood not sure which..))? Exahust goes at an angle yes?

I was right behind him one day, decided to pass him he just kinda gazed at me but didnt do anything, heard the turbo though! Sounds perty nice.

 

Naw, it was a black one, look lowered. And for those of you who said he didn't try, his engine was screaming and his turbo was whistling loud as hell.

 

Oh.. Wouldnt happen to be Black, with black rims/ blue lip?? I tried to race him as well.. he lives in surprise. I aways see him on my way home. Those are the only MR2s I know of .. I THINK..

 

It was at night, so I don't know about the blue lip, but I think he may have had black rims.

 

I have a two friends who have MR2s I dont think either of them are turboed. Buth they both are in an MR2 club, one with a black one and the other with a yellow w/ CF hood. I dont think I have seen them lately .. Ill probally ask them about it, they just about know every MR2 around here.

Yup, and dirty as hell... I saw a red cobalt in the parking lot, but I couldnt make it out, it was tintless and spoilerless. (I think it was an LS). Ive seen a few sedans here and there, and Maybe 2 or 3 other coupe, but im the only yellow one, far as I know. yay.
