Okay so im driving home MMOB the other night, when i see a civic with HIDS and a fart can infront of me. I pull up on the right lane to make a turn when the dude just keeps starring at my and pointing out the ss badge to his friend. The kid in the passenger seat rolls down the window and yells is that supercharged?? I'm like no its the NA SS, hes like yeah okay thats a fake SS. I just shake my head because these guys have no idea what the hell they are talking about. Anyway to make a long story short the guy follows me onto route 80, lines up next to me and i smoked his ass from a 50mph roll.. after i get off my exit i see the guy AGAIN, i roll down my window and said hey.. i guess those v-tec stickers didn't help you smoke this "fake" SS...

I dont like street racing but this guy was just asking for it...

 

Yeah, I think most people think my 2.4 is fake as well, mainly just because of the wing. When they ask if its S/C I say no, its the 2.4L SS, then they just assume its the same as an LS with SS badges.

i travel on RT 80 allllll the time.... ill look out for him but maybe this time he will realize that power of the SS -

i was cruising with my friend today (300hp camaro) and man, that thing can haul - even around 60 mph he was catching wheel slip through all the gears

I feel yall on that. I have already smoked 2 civics. 1 from a dead stop, and 1 from a 50mph roll. The stop light one, all he saw was my back side. Same thing on the 50mph roll. And the best thing so far, all I have done to mine is the k&n drop in filter for right now. I will tell yall this, I love the vvt.

good kill, the 2.4 eco's are pretty quick, i mean its a low 15 second car stock from what ive seen and it would kill any ricer civic, maybe even the new SI's, not sure on those though but good work shutting him up.

Good Kill, I Have The Ls And I Beat A 96 Civic Dx The Guy Said He Only Had A Dc Sport Header Borla Exhaust And Aem Intake ,i Just Got A Injen Intake And A Catback,the Civic Ran Good But It Was A Good Race Since I Won!

Thats why I shaved ALL my badges and just tell people its a Cobalt. I got tired of the whole its an SS but not supercharged blah blah everytime.

 

Yea i have a friend at the dealership and when i was looking at the Cobalts he told me 'we dont have any superchargers on the floor, just that fake ss over there' referring to the SS 2.4 of course. i dont see why people think they're fake... they may not be Supercharged but my car is still quick as ****

 

wait till some forced induction kits come out for the 2.4 then there will be no fakes

well i think with a stage 1 , 2.4 hahn kit we will be slightly faster than a stock SS/SC and i also think the trannys will hold up fine on that power, except maybe after a while the 5 speed may need a better clutch.

 

I explain to people that the motors not the only thing that makes it an SS. Then I tell him the differences, disc brakes front and rear bumper, interior trim, and suspension

 

Yeah, everyone thinks its an LS with SS badges and just different wheels.

 

I dread every time I have to explain to somone that SS DOES NOT mean supercharged NOR does a big wing and body kit make a car supercharged
