Definately had a fun time tonight. I was on my way to a friends house when a 06 2.0t jetta pulled up next to me at a light, i thought nothing of it until he decided to take off, when i caught back up to him we looked at eachother and he guns it! so naturally i go after him and ended up ahead of him by 2 cars around 100 before i shut down. definately didnt expect to beat him but i did and it was hella fun. Cobalt is now 2-0 lol

wow, good run. I was thinking as I read your post that you raced a golf gti 2.0T and I was gonna say he just didn't know how to drive, but it being the jetta, good job. those golf's are a bit faster. you should see where you stack up against one, I bet it would be a challenging race.

Was he DSG? the numbers below are for an 06 jetta with the 2.0t


0-60 mph : 7.0 sec.(manual), 6.8 sec.(DSG)
0-¼ mile : 15.2 sec @ 92.0 mph(manual)

 

I beat one a couple of months ago... definately a stout car... but we've got the weight advantage.

 

The 2.0t GTI are good matchups. My roomie has the 1.8t GLI and I can't beat it. It's traction control gives it a great launch and it matches my car for top end *****. If I could only hook up I'd have it by a car the whole way. </waiting on ingals engine dampner>
