2.4 vs Older civic SI
I was just wondering how I would fair against an older Civic si...
reason being is that I was about to race one before my exit came up

Agreed...unless, of course, it's not stock. All kinds of goodies can be under the hoods of those cars. But if you're looking at the last gen hatch, it's a 2.0 @ 160 hp, the the gen before that was a 1.6 @ 160. Before that, I'm not quite sure, but they were all slower.

Yeah, despite the increase in displacement in the EP hatches, the 1.6l cars are a few tenths faster in the 1/4. Stock for stock though, I still don't think they'd be able to catch a 2.4 ss. Maybe from a roll, but they're gutless out of the hole. They put less than 100 lb-ft of tq to the ground, and it takes a while to get even that high.
These days though, you're probably more likely to find a stock SRT Neon than you will the Si. Just ran into a guy a couple days ago with a '98 4-door Civic that looks stock with a fart can on the outside, but he's hiding an h22 under the hood. I'm sure he's taken a few people by surprise.
