I was headed to school this morning, and this black Integra ('94 LS automatic w/fart pipe and GReddy sticker mod) pulls up to me at a red light. Straight ahead is nothing but open highway-55mph speed limit. He is revving up on me, so I assume it is a 5-speed. I power brake until the light turns green and nail the throttle. At the end of first gear, I am a half a car in front of him. I hit second and keep pulling. I let off when I hit 65ish and he was a whole car length behind and I am still pulling. We ended up parking next to each other and I found out he had an automatic. People are always shocked and/or pissed off when they lose to a Saturn.

Good kill I guess (GSRs are a lot closer matched to our 2.4s though).....but only thing I don't get....is why you kept hating on his car for being an auto (after you found out) when you yourself drive an auto. Sure a 5-speed mightve been quicker, but I'm sure his auto isn't the only reason he lost, and I doubt it would've been a much closer race had he have had a 5-speed.

Anywho, my buddy Allen has a '00 GSR 5-speed w/ a full MSD ignition, intake, and an aftermarket header which he runs open header (everything behind the header remains stock and un-bolted to the header), and he just barely pulls on me. GSRs have 170hp at the flywheel stock to my 173 flywheel hp, and I have big ass ballin 19"s to his lightweight 16" Rotas, and at least a good 300-400lbs of extra weight to my car over his (plus he has no backseat/rear carpet), so I was impressed to hold him the way I did, considering all of my car (heated seats and all) is still intact. After I take my car to Tune Time and get it HP Tuned on the dyno, I expect to maybe take him next time though, b/c like I said, he only pulled on me just slightly.

And after inspecting that pic, I don't see why you hate on his "fart can" and Greddy sticker. That's a small pic on my sidekick internet, but I think I can tell that that's a Greddy EVO or Greddy EVO2 cat-back, which is a very nice cat-back. Lots of WRXs, SE-R spec V's, EVOs, etc etc rock it, so I found it weak that you'd make fun of it just b/c it was on a base model Integra you raced and beat. And as for the sticker, so what.....maybe he's proud he has a nice quality exhaust on his car and wants to show it off. I had a big "NOLOGY' sticker on my RX-7 back when I had it, so if you had raced me and beat me in that car, are you gonna go and hate on the plug wires I had too just b/c I lost? Lol.

 

Wow-where do I begin?

When was I hating on his car for being an automatic? I mentioned it was an automatic because it is relevant to the story. I realize I drive an automatic too, but most Integras you see are 5-speeds.

I call all mufflers that size fart cans. If I had only said he had "a muffler," you might think "So do all cars." Everyone knows what a fart can is. As for the sticker-I hate stickers. They are tacky to me. Especially ones that are for car audio. This sticker is on an otherwise stock car with hubcaps. It is a personal preference, nothing more.

I don't hate plug wires. I don't hate exhaust systems. I do hate stickers. Get over it.
