2006 Cobalt SS/SC VS 2005 Eclipse GTS
2006 Cobalt SS/SC VS 2005 Eclipse GTS
we went from a 25mph roll till about 65 and we were dead even the entire timme, i started in 2nd.
I thought a supercharged cobalt would smoke an eclipse gts..
how whp does a Megan catback and K&N Airbox mod add? And also would it make that much of a difference?

25 MPH in second isn't anywhere near the fat part of the powerband. If you need to roll race, go from 40 next time. As to your second question, depends on the car and the tune. You can get much more power for the same price as the catback with other mods.
what mods would those be?
Don't know about the Meagan catback's cost specifically, but for 800-ish bucks you can get:
Stage 2 for starters ($550, usually about $850 installed. GM claims 241 HP, which is pretty much accurate at the wheels). If you don't wanna go that route, you can do:
60 lb injectors - $230-ish
Airbox mod - $30 for drop-in filter, another $30 for hydro-shield if it's rainy where you live.
2.8" pulley - $100 at most
ZZP belt tensioner - $100-ish IIRC
Cobra heat exchanger - I hear of prices as low as $150, not sure if that's still true
GM Stage 2 Belt - Not sure, but I know for darn certain it's less than $100, which is a nice round number for my math.
Assuming you can find someone to tune that with HPTuners, and they charge $100, that comes out to about $800, $50 cheaper than the stage 2 install, and it should net you more power. Note that $800 is probably on the high side since I used some fuzzy math to round out my numbers.
Hope that helps. Search around the forums a bit for what I just mentioned, there's a ton of info out there about every mod I listed.

Next time you go from a 25 mph roll, when you floor it, quickly push in the clutch and release semi-quickly. Might just surprise you...
was the eclipse stock? I would think not, I have killed alot of them from all different rolls, none as low as 25 mph but I did slaughter 1 from a dig. The 3G and 4G eclipses are tanks, and have **** for acceleration.
No one specifically, but some members on here will tune you for the cost of credits to unlock your car (plus a bit extra maybe). If you can find a member on here in your area that does that, they're likely to help for a lot less than a shop. Of course, you also run the risk of getting a shitty tune, so I'd try to find someone with some experience if at all possible.
