2007 Ion 2.4 vs. 2006 Scion tC

So there's this guy that works next door to me that has a Scion tC. We park near each other nearly every day (I do it on purpose so he has to walk past my car.)

The other day, we were both walking to our cars and got to talking about how who's car might be faster (both cars are automatic and totally stock, btw) So we end up heading out to a deserted section of 4 lane highway that has a stoplight to make a few runs.

1st run-from a dig-He never had a chance...I launched my car hard (brake torque @ 2,000rpm, t/c on) and at the end of first gear, he was already a little over a whole car length back. At the end of second, he was over 3 cars back. I shut down at the end of 2nd and we went at it from a roll the next race...

2nd run-rolling 25 mph-He at least kept with me for a few feet this time, but once I hit 2nd gear, he was gone. Same results as first race.

I wonder if I would kill a 5-speed tC this badly? My next victim is a bud of mine with a 2004 Grand Prix GT (stock 3.8L non s/c) He swears his car runs low 15's, but has yet to produce a time slip...

Here's where I park to screw with him:

yeah i test drove the tc right after test driving my cobalt and it was so sluggish compared to the balt that it made my mind up to go cobalt even though tc has better aftermarket and nicer interior and better quality paint i guess power was more important in the end

Yeah, the 5-sp TC is mid-15 or so stock, at least its capable of that, the auto is low-mid 16. The 5-sp would be on par with the 2.4 Cobalts.
