my buddy just bought one of these and he wants to race. i was just wondering if anyone else has raced one of these and how did they do? both of ours are stock. do i have any hope. 2007 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION vs. 2007 SS/SC CHEVY COBALT

Theres a vid of a Cobalt walking an EVO but but EVO is stock and the Cobalt is moddded.
Mod yours and your fine, if not......sorry.

If you had some mods you could keep up. I don't know if the specs are different for an 07' but I have handed 2 Evos their ass by a couple car lengths from a roll. From a dig I got my ass handed to me. All with the mods you can see in my garage minus the 2.9" pulley.
I was running the 3" gm stage 2 pulley at the time.

P.S They were stock.

You won't walk away from him, but I've held even with them from a roll. Get a good jump from the roll and they will have mucho trouble catching up with you - probably won't. From a dig, don't waste your time - he will demolish you.

Yeah, you could maybe take him from a roll, if hes a bad driver, but from a dig, you're screwed big time

When I roll raced them I rolled at about 30mph in 2nd gear.

 

30mph in second will be a good start, he should have to shift to third before you do if i'm not mistaken (6speed). Gives him the first chance to mess up.

 

Just pick a speed thats high in your second gear, around 3-4kRPM so you can take off right in your powerband

There's no such thing as an '07 Evo. It's gotta be an '06 or an '08 and I guarantee it's not an '08.

 

i raced one from 40-45ish, and inched on him when i was stock, and i mean INCHED! he could have sucked at life though. the 07's could be faster, im not too sure, i didnt know they were out. from a dig, he will slit your throat and watch you bleed out in his rearview.

 

I've beaten a stock evo from a roll, from a dig I lost by about a car. I have a video to prove, just don't know how to post it.

 

Just have someone let the air outta his tires at the starting line....youll win for sure

 

my neighbors best friend sold his evo MR because i beat hom by 3 cars! lol
im modded and he was stock, but he could drive thoe! he ran a 13.3/4 stock with 200 miles on it
