Cool Another Kill for a Cobalt LS

Ok so here I am sitting at a red light when this grey lancer rallyart comes up right behind me almost touching my bumper. Lights turn Green and i'm off like a scalded dog, 1st, 2nd 3rd and I'm watching this lancer in my rear mirror between shifts, trying to keep up but no luck, I had 2 good car lengths on him and I'm hitting 123kph in a 60 zone so i decided to back'er off a bit for slow poke to catch up. He starts to speed up, His front bumper is even with my door and i hit the gas, and start to pull hard, then it was my turn off so I slowed down and hit my signal. The light turns green I look over and he guns it, tires screaming and off he went, so i make like a herd of turtles and make the turn and head home for a BBQ. I wasn't sure if it was a rallyart till i saw the rear of the car and sure enough it was. good day everyone.

1 - 1986 toyo turbo celica

A 2005 v6 Mustang is a low 15 car stock in auto and a high 14 in 5sp, the only way in loses to a Cobalt LS is if it was the worst 5sp driver ever.

I was doing about 45 to 50kph pulled up beside these to hot chicks in the 05 mustang v6 auto and they started to speed up and slow down, speed up and slow down, so i waived at them and we floored it and the same time and i pulled away from them till we came to the stop sign. I think that counts as a kill.

Ralliart!

I am wanting to race one myself. A bit surprised you won....if he was a good driver, it might be a different story, maybe.

NO no it's was a 5 spd cause when i was turning and the light turned green he revved it up and spun his tires up the road.

I had to take my buddy over to pick up his 04 wrx so he was following me back to my place for some grub, and he lined up with me at the lights, now me and him are really good friends and we are always talking about cars and what not, so I hit the switch and the window rolled down and said "lets see what happens" so he started to rev it up as well as me, the light goes green and I had 2 and half lenghts on him till his turbo kicked in then he started to pass me. At the top of third he couldn't pull away from me I was on him like a fat kid on smartes. excuse my wording had to put that in. And yes I know they are fast cars with the all wheel drive and all but he granny shifts. but it was fun.

However you slice it, it's still a Ford...we used to have a Mustang V6 shop car, what a piece of crap! The power top broke down all the time; it was unbelievably cheap as far as interior and exterior goes, and completely gutless in the performance department.

All I'm saying is don't think you beat the car, you beat the driver, the car would walk a Cobalt LS no matter it's tranny.

Thats why it is rated one of the more reliable cars, the 05-06 is selling like crazy, and the performance of the 05-06 v6 is trumped only by the supercharged SS Cobalt.

I will agree on the interior though, it is crap.

I don't have any mods yet, just a heavy foot and good cordination for the shifts.
I've been driving a standard since i got my licence 16 years or so ago. I consider myself a pretty good driver, but then again so does everybody, RIGHT.
I can pretty much judge what and who I can beat. But A mustang auto is a no brainer you floor it and it shifts for you, and on the straight an narrow, She should of won, yes, but i did. It wasn't much of a race and she wasn't far behind me, maybe her front bumper was at my rear. but it still counts.

And listen I don't want this thread to turn out like that 1.8 civic thread, I was reading some of the posts in there and that is just horrific. tell some of your own stories i love reading them.

WRONG. I am the worst 5 speed driver in the world. i've had my stick for a month and still stall about twice a day and am still the worst launcher ever. i can setup your $50,000 network in 5 minutes but its gonna be a while longer before im even considered "beginner" to manual, atm still just a noob
