Actually, a buddy of mine put 30 thousand dollars into his power stroke. Took it to the Kenny Chesney concert in Pittsburgh, and he wouldn't even entertain other trucks trying to race him. He was making 1400 whp. On the way home, we were cruising at 80mph getting 24mpg, then he started boosting, waste gate partially opening, sounded like a jet. Let he floored it, full boost, went from 80-160 in a few seconds. I was pinned, I couldn't believe how fast it was. He did all the work himself, has a degree in engineering and is only 24. I can pull a pic from his Facebook.

I am sure it didn't go from 80-160 in just a few seconds and only had 30k in it.

How are you sure? Do you know how much torque these things make?

Lol I think the guys calling the truck owners small dicked have issues. I don't have a diesel but the OP just said loud exhaust. I like to hear my truck running through the rpm's just like 99% of people with modified vehicles. If that labels me as apparently "small dicked" then what does that make they guy with the sport compact that is trying to sound like a diesel truck or a tractor by straight piping it right off the turbo?

30k into the motor alone. Not including tranny, rear and front axles, tune, tires, wheels...

I will put 5 bucks on It that truck don't do 160. And you didn't say 30 in the motor alone. It's Prolly 10 for just a tranny. And whati am saying is, you said 80-160 in a few seconds when you havea truck that weighs 7500-8000 lbs. and had a worse power to weight ratio than my car and my car will do 160 but not in a few seconds. It would have to be at least a 150 trap truck to do 160 in 10 seconds from 80. It's aero is worse then a brick

Torque is what it takes to do a certain rate of speed in a certain amount of time, not horsepower. It's basic physics. That truck has over 2000lb/ft of torque. I don't need to plead my case to you, you're a nobody. I know because I was in it when he did it and I don't have a reputation of trolling on this site. Anyway, there are the pictures. Enjoy.

Driving a truck with exhaust is one thing, driving one with it and acting like you are the **** and can run against cars that you cannot hang with is what makes you a ******* in my book. I like trucks, handy things and I know trucks can be made fast. But most are not and the owner thinks they are greater than anything.

Kind of like the owner of this very nice F250 I ran at a track day back in the day. I loved the truck, it had a nice lift and big ol tyres and then had a laundry list of mods, big boost and propane injection or some crap. While waiting for the bikes to do their runs I asked him about it and he was a total douche, ran through his list of things and than looks at my balt and laughs in my face, saying I was going to lose and yada yada. We finally line up, I take it easy off the line so he jumps to a nice truck lead and begins to wave bye bye to me than I grab second and reel him in and cross the line 4 lengths on him. I wanted to talk him more but he just turned out of the track and left.... real cool guy there lol

Facebook means nothing to me, I don't use that junk. The proof is what it is, your perception of fast in a few seconds and mine are totally different. Your fast in 20 seconds is my fast in 10 seconds. I am not saying the truck don't make 1400 hp but I am saying its not as fast as you think it is. Its ok tho, when you ride in something or on something that can really do 80-160 in a few seconds youll know what I mean. Those pics are the necessary things you need to make 800 hp let alone 1400

You know what, you're from Ohio. How close are you to Youngstown? I bet he'd show you his truck if you'd like?

^Trucklengths (lots of them)

I do love proper diesel trucks. Im not saying they are the fastest thing in world, granted their launches are always great. But ive seen truck pulling impressive times at the track, and to see an 8000lb monster beating cars in the twelves is awesome to see.

For a diesel truck to go 160 i think youd need a very trick transmission... and suspension... and high rev limiter... to ...handle that kind of speed
