Had a fun encounter with a silver STI that I’ve seen running around my part of town but always going the opposite direction…. Not today! Now as far as mods on the STI go, I know for a fact it has a full turbo back exhaust as you can smell, see and hear it and he has his front bumper off with a stealthy FMIC/piping that’s been painted black. I’m not sure what else is done to it aside from some lame “grocery getter” sticker in pink on the back but anyway, on to the race.

I’m leaving my neighborhood and low and behold, Mr. STI is heading the same direction as I am. So I get in behind him and we’re just cruising (traffic) but I can tell he’s game as he is aggressively going through the gears every chance he gets. I was hoping we’d catch a light to go from a dig, just to see how well I could play catch up but no dice We get to an intersection and he throws his blinker on to turn right onto a wide open street (car in front of him).

Light turns green and he takes the turn pretty aggressively and just as I turn the corner (quickly go into 2nd because I know what’s about to happen) he goes WOT (car is loud as ****). OKAY, I’m game :devil: I follow suit and to my surprise, my car hooks decently well and I begin to gain on him, fast! Just as I’m about to blow by him and NLS into 3rd, his passenger (both are stereotypical brosef looking Scooby fans) throws out this gay as aids “gansta” peace sign, like they’re going to walk me just as I'm literally rowing on by, waiving goodbye with a smile on my face and a loud ass exhaust in their ear. Both had the look of “What? How…? Da fuq…..”

I run out 3rd, just to rub salt in the wound and had at least a corn field on them. I’m assuming they let out shortly after I walked on by. Icing on the cake? Wouldn’t even get close to me and purposely missed the left turn signal at the next intersection to avoid shame.


TL;DR – Brosef’s in a modded STI get drug and eat **** after some lame mockery attempt by a 4 door rental with car seat and booster in the back.

Rental has the following mods – Upgraded intake tube (stock airbox), catless DP, muffler replacement and my own E20 blended calibration via HPT. Roughly 20-21lbs and 12.5* timing up top. By no means an aggressive cal compared to your typical LNF, E-blend or not. Hell, Huggers HHR has a more aggressive boost and timing cal than my car!

Not necessary for me. My previous RY sedan was a guinea pig among a few others when Iambroke was testing the ethanol blends. This one I'm just taking it easy with and enjoying it.

on a similar note: i couldnt get any subie fanboys to run for $20 last night when I found a group of them. all talk but no walk when it comes down to it.. "its just a 4 door cobalt"
