Called out by a 392 challenger
Driver Mod would be my guess. In peak conditions they supposedly trap 112, iv yet to see a stock one trap that with my own eyes. They shine in the 18th, and kinda suck top end, so if the driver goofs the launch its all over. I heard him my door and was shocked when he didn't pass me.
This guy was doing pretty good tho , low 11s high 10s

IMG_4701 by Antonio Stovall, on FlickrI was in one that did a 12.4 @ 114 stock, 200 feet above sea level, 70 ish degrees out.
The best trap i've ever seen out of an M62 LSJ was a 108, and it had everything under the sun and E 85..
From what ive seen the 392 have great top end. Above 100 mph they pull away from 5.0 Mustang with 3.73 gearing
He would have to be pretty bad..

90% sure it was driver mod.But i didn't get to see his slip. i beat him on the light, he caught up around the 330 then i pulled a fender on him and held it to the trap. I totally expected him to pull me. its close enough to be a drivers race when you count RT and how well either gets off the line. everyone was complaining about being 1-4mph slower that night as well. my best trap so far has been 108 on a 2.85 when the DA was low(low 100s) now thats its hot and humid DA 1500-2000+ iv switched to 2.7 and played with fueling and timing and managed 108.5 so i think i might be around 109-110 when the DA drops again.

He probably ran a mid to high 13 on that run. Definitely needs driver mod.
Anyways a stock 392 should pull on an M62 cobalt, no matter what's done to it.
Especially from a roll.

Back in the M62 days I trapped 109.7mph with a filter, full exhaust, 2.7 on 80's and a tune that was my first E85 tune I had ever done that was considered conservative now days. I'll have to try to run a 392 in my M62 winter car now with a ported head and cams, should be a good run.
I think people have seen too many improperly setup TVS cars, so when one comes along that performs they are all surprised! Its basically my old setup but on the stock head and stock cams and only revving to 7400. FWIW, last year on my TVS setup I could pull just a tad on the integra
I wouldn't say no matter whats done to it. What if its stroked or spraying. Lol.
108-110 seems to be a normal trap on a tuned, bolted cornfeed lsj.
Maybe weather effects thoes cars alot more than fi cars. Da was around 1500ft.
