Now i know that i am about to hear some **** for even saying this...

I beat an Evo.

I was pulling out of my apartments when i see an evo fly past on the main road. My girl was in the car with me so i tell her to hang on.

I pull beside the evo doing about 50 in second. He doesnt think anything of my stock exhaust, so i hammer down. He does not follow. GAY!!! So i was like screw it and slowed down to the 40 mph speed limit.

And then it happend. The ricer fly by.... He made sure he shifted as he past so i could hear his aftermarket blow off. So i drop second, pull up beside him at the top of second and wait untill he drops gear and mashes. I let him get the jump and then go to WOT. By the time i hit 3rd i was even with him. I stayed in just long enough to put maybe a car on him. I did not go to forth.

So then we come up to a light where we are both turning left (two turning lanes). he would not look at me or turn the radio down. So i get his buddies attencion and he turns the radio down. I said is that a real evo? He was like yeah and then turned the radio back up.

Anyway i beat an evo...

Now i know that from a stop he would have waxed my ass so no need in pointing that out to me...

It was probably an MR edition and he didn't leave sixth gear...

 

That is funny bc i just saw a video of an evo holding it own against a lambo gallardo on the track.

And it does not sound like much of a race.

 

Is possible, but only from a roll, and w/ a shitty EVO driver.

I believe it. I wouldn't call it a race though. Evos fall flat on their face in 3rd, not to mention that they are AWD. Also, if it were the MR edition, it comes with the 6 spd, he would be shifting more and you'd stay in gear.

I've raced an Evo before from a roll. he pulled ahead at first, then I started pulling on him, next I know his brakes lights come on and he turns on a side street. I have a video to prove it, it's from a cell phone and you see me pull and then 2-3 seconds later his brake lights. How do I host this video?

 

... oh and a video of me against a gt mustang and a stock white srt4. all wins.

 

yeah i bet it was a very tight course. Do you honestly think an Evo is as fast as a Gallardo now because it can handle close to as well as one? Put them on a highway and that Evo will get beat by bus lengths.

I saw that video. It was on some show from Britain on Discovery channel, I forget the name, something like Sports Car TV. He failed to mention the Lambo was stock, and the EVO was HEAVILY modified with over 400HP and a special ECU that prevents the car from spinning out, by transferring power to the gripping wheel. The driver absolutely could not spin out on a turn. It was a Gray Evo 8

 

idk but from what i heard in uk evo's are 400hp stock.

 

The show in question was, in my opinion, the best car show on tv, Top Gear. The Mitsu did wax the lambo, and a formula 1 driver was driving the lambo. As for the evo, it was the UK only special edition FQ400 Mitsu Evo 8 MR with, you guessed it, 400bhp, plus all kinds of other tweaks. But, it IS a factory car from Mitsu, and it DOES have four doors and costs a quarter of the price of the lambo. Personally, I d take the sleeper evo any day over the lambo, but thats a personal opinion.

I am currently "watching" my roomies EVO while he is out to sea. My SS STG2 is faster than the EVO hands down. His is not an EVO thou. Just my 2 cents

 

Most uneducated post. Any car can hang with any car if enough money is put into it. was the evo you saw stock. I DONT THINK SO>

 

He should of beated you no prob if he knew how to drive it. I think were giving these Evos a little bit to much confidence. They cant be dynoing much more than a stock STI.

We all agree that a stock cobalt that downshifts high up in third could possibly pull on one that did not expect it.
