Talking Cobalt SS/SC VS. VOLVO S60 First Kill

On my way home the other day on SR 37 and I am in the left lane passing someone when i look in the mirror and see a nice lookin Volvo fly up on my ****. Not even thinking about a race I downshift to 4th kind of as a brake check to get this guy off my ****. I figured I just wasnt going fast enough for him (speed limit is 55 i was doin 65). So any ways I speed up a little and get over in the right lane and he gets up right next to me and acts like he wants some. I had the old lady in the car and knowing she would bitch at me I downshift to third and slowly press down the gas till WOT. Immediately started pulling on the Volvo and shut it down at 100 in fourth and he flys by.

He then slows down and stays right next to until we start coming to a light. The light is red and he hangs way back while I am stopped at the light. So I think hes gonna try and get a roll on me from the light. But no, I slowly take off and he waits up for me and starts playing with me again. So I goose it a couple times and so does he, then I pin it down, slide into fourth and watched the Volvo get further and further away in my rearview, he just couldnt hang.

I had to turn off and shut it down at 110, so being a good sport I gave him the thumbs up but he never looked over and went flyin past. Needless to say I pulled into the garage that night satisfied and with a raging girlfriend. But hey thats part of the reason I bought the car!! She doesnt always get mad just depends what mood shes in lol!! Other times shes in the passenger seat yellin go go go!!! lol

I think it was the S60T BTW but not sure

yes, I know the feeling. I've decided to never shift into 4th into a race though, over 100 is a little too rich for my blood. Fun stuff though, roads down here are long and empty. and usually 50 mph speed limit so dig races up to 60 arent really TOO illegal...in the speeding sense. its still racing though so I guess you would still get a ticket

edit: this reminds me of some v6 accord that tried to mess with me...i just rolled normall off the line, didnt think he wanted to race, then i saw him pulling unnaturally hard so i pinned it and got about 3 cars on him at about 70.

Something satisfying about shutting down a 30K base priced car.

just dont mess with the s60R. 300 ponies in that bad boy. trust me, they arent slouches at all. its like going up against an sti. i know this cause i wasnt sure what the R was for, and i saw one on the freeway. i think his turbo spooling was louder than my supercharger whine. it was insane. nice kill man.

nice kill, i think those s60R's only run a 14.4 even though they are all wheel drive. they are too heavy to be "fast" from a roll it'd be an easy kill stock, with stage 2, psh... lights out
