Cobalt SS vs 335i JB4

Did some late night runs with a buddy of mine in Mexico.

He has JB4 on e85 with map 5 14PSI. (Not racegas file)
VS
2010 Cobalt SS KN SRI, badmab 3" catless DP, CX racing intercooler, Trifecta tune 23 PSI.

His car is definitely much faster. He put down 430 whp on dynojet with the racegas file.

Its that damn overheating/limp mode that 335i do...thats why they are unreliable, and why i am questioning getting one..looks like the cobalt is a faster car till 120, and after who cares, if you do highway rolls or drag....who is ever gonna do top speed runs?
That car has e85 too, so thats disappointing if you ask me...

The 335 needs to lose the ricer mod -- excuses. "No traction" "Limp mode" blah blah blah. Sounds like every "built" Honda I've ever raced. Fact of the matter is, the cheap, POS Cobalt was the better car here for 4 out of 5 runs.

Meth might work better than e85, then he could turn the boost up. Lotta variables in there. Those beemers do heatsoak which is annoying. My friends 4door has random problems like that, but he's running pump/meth and occasionally racegas/meth. Has managed a 12.1@118 at the track so far. Very quick 4door.

This one looks decent, but very inconsistant

You guys gotta remember. He's on map 5 which is an Autotune map. Its only like 14-15 psi conservative not racegas file thats why he goes into limp. His car will destroy mine as it did when we did a higher roll race and he got traction.

I'm surprised my car did so well to be honest, he knows what's up. This is a little comparo run before I go big turbo.... whenever it decides to come.

Interesting. What was the E85 mix? 50/50 with 91 octane? The stock inter cooler in the 335 is a piece of junk. He had no downpipes or intake either? The car was adapted to the E85? He was using the right firmware?

Looked very inconsistent.

I've never has a limp mode from overheating.

if the bimmer wasnt having so many problems maybe you could of showed us the high rolls. or maybe those excuse's were not thought of yet. we know the cobalt should lose tho lol nice vid! excuse's or hes a bad driver.

Do you have post-homing radar concerning 335i's?

I don't know the exact details on what happened. It is straight e85 from the pump from what I know. Stock car, tune only. JB4 with e85.

His car is still definitely faster haha. Traction is hard with 400wtq or so all through the RPM LOL!

they are no where near unreliable..

by what i read from the cobalts forums... and what i read on the BMW forums... those BMWs are A LOT more reliable than cobalts...


anywho... now thats settled...

400wtq Cobalts on street tires don't have nearly half of that 335's "no traction" issues bunch of bs. No matter what speed you guys ran from, he was either having "traction issues" or the "limp" issues.

I dont have traction in second... but I can imagine if I had 400wtq I would probably have issues in third with stock tires like he's running.

400wtq for them isn't that much to lose traction. Heavy as hell and with good tires you shouldn't break your tires loose to much specially with rwd. Does he have shitty tires?

^^ This. My car should be at or very near 400wtq, and from a 40 hit in 2nd I break traction for a little then I'm back in it. Shift to 3rd and no traction issues.
