Cobalt SS vs 96 Eclipse GS-T
Cobalt SS vs 96 Eclipse GS-T
So before anyone complains about street racing... this was done on a closed course so no risk of anyone getting hurt.
First run we did from a 40 roll - results = by 120 I had about 4 cars on him or more
The next 4 runs were from a dig to 1/4 mile.
Run 1 = He took me by about a car
Run 2 = I took him by 1/2 car
Run 3 = I took him by about 1 1/2 cars
Run 4 = He took me by a car
Needless to say - traction is a bitch. Most of the time I spent most of 2nd gear making smoke (and 1st wasn't much better). I really need to get some new tires!!!!
I am thinking of getting some 225/40 put on then reduce my boost for 1st gear to about 50% since I can't go more then half throttle without just spinning the tires in first right now.
Oh and he said he was running a T04 Borg Warner turbo with exhaust and CAI. He was quite impressed with how well my cobalt runs especially from the roll.

Good runs. I love dsm's when they are done right. But...I have a 2.5 pulley, and can almost floor it in first gear...i'd say like 75% throttle on the street...and on the track I can get on it 100% after about 4500 rpm and I have no boost limits....I think you just need tires! I'm about to get new tires. I'm going 225/40's like you want with the bfgoodrich kdw's. I can't wait for the difference (since my pirellis have 36k miles on them)
