Good race. I think in general ss/sc's are slower than the average SRT-4 but I think more and more of you guys are throwing on either the GM kits or the aftermarket ones and making them alot faster now than say a year ago. I am sure there are alot of fast balts out there.

I am waiting on a friend of mine to put in his GM Stage 2 kit and some other mods and see what he is going to be able to put down at the track. Last year was kind of disappointing for all of us, balt and neon. This year I think we will have something to look forward to in the up coming months. My times have already dropped by atleast a second since last year. The crappy british gas kills performance. It is like using california **** gas. LOL

Stage 2 on an SRT-4 can be a great mod to work with but if you only slap it on and don't know **** about the car it will let you down. Just slapping on the no toys version gives you probably say about 260 hp. That is if the owner has made sure he has sealed up his intake track to make sure there are no boost leaks. Alot do but alot don't. A TBE will help out alot and will really wake the car up. The S2 comes with an adjustable wastegate so you can boost up to like 18-20 psi. If you get some Meth injection and use a DTEC or SAFC or something to lean the car out you can help increase the timing advancement to run higher boost with more timing advancement and little to zero knock retard and make a beast of a car. But you have to know what you are doing and what to look for when tuning the car. some say hey just jack the boost up to like 23 psi on stock turbo. Yeah, you can do that but your timing advancement goes to ****. so you lose power. Or they get knock retard, and guess what, yep, you lose power. Too many of the owners don't know how to tune the car correctly. Even I am still learning but in my area I think for the mods that I have, I think mine is the best tuned at the moment. I got to help out the other guys to help get them tuned as well before Mopar Nats at the end of July. Just haven't had the time to do it.

So, yes a S2 car could be competition for this guys setup but from the way the tool was smack talking to the balt owner, I am going to say that he doesn't know anything about the car really and probably just slapped the S2 on and didn't do anything else from there. Probably has a bunch of boost leaks, and knows nothing about tuning a car.

Kudos! Good to see some SRT 4s getting a lil Bow Tie taste. I wish we had some SRT 4s around my area, i'd like to see one first hand.

 

i wish my stage 2 gave me almost 270....i have stage 1 with the 2.85 and airbox mod and probally dont have 250 to the wheels, so lets say he has 280 wich is just a bit north of 270 you arent getting 30hp from exhuast and intake exhaust and intake maybe 15hp... btw stage 2 dyno at 235 240 hp. And he never said his car was all power full or anything just told a story of how some punk kid with stage 2 srt called him out and he won. Where i race you dont ask what mods soemone has you race to race if the other car is faster big deal give the guy props and move on, just more reason to mod yours. Not like we are racing hard core for money

 

omg...I finally figured it out. Posts = WHP. I can't believe I never realized that. Now that I think about it, the more I post on this site, the faster my car gets!
