Fact is that a low 10 high 9 sec dsm can get on any given street with dr's and still pull a 10 second run ... ON the street not just at the track prep'd track.

Money can make anything fast but for a car that is 20 years old using 20 + year old awd technology a dsm is impressive as ****.

Props to any fast car and saying a street driven 10 sec car isn't impressive is retarded. Maybe and I mean MAYBE 5 % of street driven cars can hit mid 10's. There is leaps and bounds between a 10.9 and a 10.5/.4.

But I guess trolls going to troll.

Dear moronic children. How about posting a video and saying things like "ah thats cool" or "wonder whats under the hood" or other such inoffensive things? As opposed to "IMMA CALL U STOOPID" "NO U STOOPID" and such things I had 0 tolerance for 10 years ago.

Thanks

Seriously tho dude, I stated my opinion, you've been bitching about it for the last two pages of this thread. In all my replies I was just defending my opinion, if you think its cool then thats great, I only argued your abscure reasoning that you backed up your opinion with (cause your facts where ussually wrong).

PS. This is my build thread (OMG it does exist!) https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/adva...thread-239470/

I was worried for a while there, I almost moved my house under a bridge, you had me pretty convinced I was a troll.

I will sleep well tonight now.

Have a good day bros!
If you didn't like it you didn't have to post....only running 13.8 in a 2200lb car, now that's impressive !

But why is everyone bitching about the car having "old Tech" that means absofuckingloutely Nothing.it doesnt take modern technology to go fast. its air and fuel, squeeze it real hard.

i understand what you are trying to say however .. tooling and machine work/build quality is more precise than it was 20 years ago, also making power is easier with newer technology... and it's more efficient. plus in a car like the GTR a computer practically drives the car for you and ensures everything is 100%. Older cars don't have that luxury.
any car old or new that costs 1/10th or less of the price of the GTR and can run with it is impressive no matter what brand it is. Especially when it didn't require a small fortune to make it that fast... 1G DSM's make serious power with very little money. You can also buy one of these cars super cheap now so the initial cost before mods is peanuts.

i do agree that unless they upgraded the transmission in this car it was probably toast after that run... they suck in these cars.. not very durable and the synchros are garbage. i was once a DSM guy and had a 1G Turbo AWD Eclipse GSX.

Wow, you just won't let that point go will you.

Man I wish a computer drove my car for me, pushing the gas peddal to the floor and then releasing it to shift gears is super hard....I **** that up all the time.

OK, seriously...that was the last one...bye!

Makes me miss my 95 TSi AWD. Makes me miss my 96 TSi even more. For being stock with 180k, that thing could probably hang with my SS/SC. If this was on a DSM forum, they wouldn't be surprised, there's a reason those cars have a cult-like following.

I am well aware of what DSM's are capable of, however you guys are swinging from this DSM nuts cause it ALMOST beat a modded GT-R.

Hell I guy I race with is in his 60's and drives a 10 second street legal maxima, he drives it 3 hours to and from the track every weekend. Gone are the days when 10 second street cars blow my mind.

Sorry boys, get out from under the rock that is cobaltss.net and see for yourself what people are doing.

Forgive me tho that I don't find a streetable DSM that ALMOST beat a GT-R that runs 10.1 impressive.....and I really hate GT-Rs.

Now please, back to nut swinging this guy, sorry to bother you.

Ive gotta agree. While that DSM is obviously quick, theres nothing impressive about.... theres PLENTY of DSMs out there running 10s or faster. Hell any given street night at the strip theres usually a group of them. Granted, the GT-R is an expensive car that just got beat by an old DSM, but its not really a suprise considering how common it is for DSMs to be built

It's too bad the 2gs were so much better looking than the 1gs. Makes sticking with a 1g to avoid crankwalk that much harder. If I could get a reliable (ha) 2g gsx in black, I would be driving one right now.

No doubt on the looks dude, 2g's are the best looking Eclipses/Talon's Mittsu has ever made. I mistook my water pump going out on my teal TSi for crankwalk, lol. In a long, hilarious story, I got it 30 miles back home, where I sold it. Saw the kid who bought re-selling it on Craigslist, new head and seals on the engine and powder coated the rims black. Looked great, except he replaced the dash with his old Talon's (145k), when the engine really had 210k.

I sold my black TSi AWD in June, lol. You wouldn't have wanted it though. Only had 100k on the engine, but it was rusted as **** and the ABS didn't work. If I could've swapped the chassis and engine onto my teal one, i'd have had one bad ass DSM.
