prolly wasn't me...i'm over in the deltona/deland area (west volusia county)...WE NEED TO GET A CRUISE/MEET GOING AROUND HERE...I NEVER SEE OTHER SS BALTS unless they're ragged out...there's a local chick with a two door SS/TC, but that thing is filthy (typical chick car)...lemme know if u wanna try to get some guys together...

I put the question mark there at FIRST because at the time I first posted, I didn't really know what TRIM it was and wanted feedback to figure it out (it was a PONTIAC for sure!). So, if *looks* like a GTO..*smells* like a GTO and >>>HAS A HOOD SCOOP AND A REAR WING like a GTO then it a F$$KN GTO! What other car could it be? It looked IDENTICAL to the pic I posted.
I don't know why peole here are in *disbelief* that a tuned SS/TC is no match for this car? IT'S 700 LBS HEAVIER! and that will effectively reduce the HP by almost 100 when compared to a car 700 LBS LIGHTER. So you really have two cars of *equal* HP here.

Pontiac was all about hoodscoops and cladding. One of the reasons they're not around anymore.
To the OP: It's entirely possible to beat LS2 GTOs. Don't let these guys fool you, they only trap 108 below sea level, haha. Seriously, though, the stock ones or exhaust only GTOs can barely get above 100mph out here in the desert.

1.) You had no f*cking clue what you were talking about
2.) You had no idea it was even Pontiac
3.) If you were so clued in by the picture that you posted that you are now SURE it was a GTO, you wouldnt have posted it in the manner you did to begin this post. Sure my ass...

I bet it was a gto, I've raced my buddys 2006 gto 50 times from dig and all sorts of rolls. Hes got a stock 6 speed. Some of the rolls were about dead ass even and a couple I can get him by a car or little more. From a dig I can usually get him by a bit if I launch good and dont lose to much traction

Did you mean excluding the GT? The Grand Ams GTs of certain later years definitely had ram air and hood scoops (the hoodscoops were not connected to the ram air, they were aesthetic).

I raced with a tuned SS/TC (HPtuned) and a stock GTO when I had exhaust, intake, and GMS1. Each race was pretty dead even up to about 100 and at that point the other SS/TC and GTO started to pull on me a little bit. Yes, there are vids if you want to see them, I'll just need to find them.
Edit: Now that I think about it, I don't think the GTO was stock. This was over a year ago though so I don't remember.

Haha no offense but there are a few ******** in this thread .. It is entirely possible that his tuned tc got the jump on a gto.. There are so many factors that play into this race.. Just because a gto can run low 13's all day doesnt mean it will with every driver.. Not to mention a gms1 is capable of low 13's as well Nevermind an aftermarket tune..so get off the guys case... Just because a car is "supposed to be faster" doesnt mean it always is... Calling someone a magazine benchmark racer when you yourself are using its low ETs as a comparison? Ya maybe in a perfect world the gto would win but this isnt a perfect world.. People need to open their eyes an see that not every race is ideal conditions for both cars and that any outcome is possible given the right conditions...Bad gas, tuning issues, bald tires, crappy driver, and the list goes on.. A win is a win so congrats buddy!!
