Hey
find a pic of a similar model and post its year here, that will give us an idea of what kind of power it has and such, then we can give you an accurate judgement. you can beat him on a roll but from a dig its not likely, yanno traction issues and such.
my buddy has an 04 GTO (LS1 also)
weighs a little more then the T/As
and he beats me from a roll and everything else
i have a catback and a drop in filter
he has an intake and a short shifter

I know there are several stock SS/TC's that have beaten low 13 second cars from a roll. I've seen them beat LS1 Camaro's, Mach 1 Mustangs and other low 13 second cars.
no, and not from a dig.
That V8 and the WS6's light curb weight will yank the **** outta him regardless of roll/dig. It has a better power/weight ratio AND its a 6-speed with good top end power.
335hp/3400 lbs = .098
260hp/2900 lbs = .089
more hp/lb + V8 top end = dead cobalt

But a Mach 1 Mustang, which is compared almost exactly to an LS1 F-body, has been beaten from a roll by a stock SS/TC, and there are tons of stock 05+ GT's that have been beaten by a stock SS/TC from a roll. There are tons of videos out there showing this aswell. I know from a dig the SS/TC wont win, unless the F-body is an auto, or a shitty driver and the SS/TC has one of those awesome drivers who have driven their stock SS/TC to 13.5-13.6 runs.
2) The mach 1 has less hp/tq than a WS6
3) The mach 1 is not a 6 speed
4) The mach 1 must have had a VERY BAD DRIVER
I call bs on a stock TC taking a stock mach.
mach1:
305hp/3300 lbs
320tq
SS/TC:
260hp/2900 lbs
260tq
If u look at the hp/lb and tq/lb, the cobalt is stll behind.
Cobalt: .0896hp/tq/lb
Mach 1: .0924hp/lb
.0969tq/lb
from a roll, AWSOME DRIVERS go out the window. Awsome drivers only count for the dig race, not a roll. 13.5 is impressive, but that is because of the driver. When u take the dig launching skills out of the equation, a roll race is a completely different animal. I can tell u a stage 2 balt will hang with a stock SS/TC from a roll. Do u honestly think a WS6 isnt going to beat a stage 2 LSJ from a roll? Comon now.
The average LS1 F-body stock runs what, 13.1-13.3, the Mach 1 runs 13.2-13.4 on average. There are tons of 4.10 geared, DR Mach 1's in the 12's, and tons in the mid to low 12's with bolt ons, and that is not even a cam swap. I've seen stock SS/TC's beat low 13 second cars from a roll on numerous occasions.
no no and no
my dad owns a ls1 vette..convert (so about the same weight as a t/a)
stock for stock..from a roll..he will win everytime.
with the tune i got now..ill pull ahead.
spend the 250 bucks, get a tune..and tell him you'll race for cash
so much troof in this.
stg2 wil hang with the lnf
T/A will rape stg 2
see what hes getting at?

Stock WS6 will pull low 13's and 106+mph through the traps

If anyone thinks an LNF has a chance against an LS1 f-body you need to do some research
Years ago in MM&FF. A bone stock 02 SS 6spd put down 317rwhp. 317rwhp = 365hp at the crank

All LS1's have 350+hp. They were just rated low to not **** off C5 owners

Im not feelin it that my Cobalt could have pulled away from my Z when it was stock.
A roll would have been interesting, but a win......wouldn't happen stock for stock
tuned ss/tc's put down 300 whp and +300 wtq. im thinking with intake/catless downpipe/tune i could take my dad in the 1/4 mile.
