I got killed by a V6 Mustang ###FACEPALM####

Well some kid in a V6 Mustang with straight pipes was being rowdy. I was rolling at about 40 so I dropped to 2nd I gave him the nod to gun it and as soon as I punched it my car took a **** and gave me the dreaded "reduced engine power".

Even though there is a suttle difference(v6 vs i6), there is no Mustang without the 6 cylinder that started it all. It's a pony car, not a muscle car.

Yeah, very true. I own a 12' V6 MT6 and it's definitely not "muscle" by any means. It's just a fun daily that's somewhat quick for what it is. The 2010 and older V6 mustangs can be had for dirt cheap, so you end up next to a kid in his first car and they're excited.

The V6 comment is like " I wish the Cobalt LT and LS never existed", only the SS! haha

If it was the older body style, he was toast. If it was the 11+ it can be a drivers race mattering on mods.

On a positive note there was a Chik-fil-a right next to where the "race" happened so I ate a delicious spicy chicken sandwich. Winning!!!

The 11+ V6 run high 13s stock so they'll pull any stock Balt.

That's not necessarily true since they're RWD they can get off the line much better. The cobalts are faster than many cars from a roll that run quick quarter mile times.

I'm aware, I'm not talking about who's quicker in a quarter mile though I'm saying the SS will be faster from a roll.

From a roll an 08+ SS balt will win stock for stock, since it weighs about 400lbs less and makes similar power. The trap speeds in stock form are similar (LNF). I have 3.55s, CAI and tune for my 3.7, but on the stock 225s (sideways spinning 1st to 2nd on quick shift). I think with tires I could be solid 13's if I can drive it. RWD being the Stangs advantage.

Then you throw a $300 tune on a LNF and it's in stock base 5.0 territory from a roll (different league than the 3.7). LNF is a way better bang for your buck performance wise. Don't know about the LSJ, never owned one.

I think the one I ran into was an 09-10. Those are the ones with a 3.7. Hey but it don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile winning is winning
