ION redlines?????
ION redlines?????
are they slower than the SS of faster than the SS because i beat one with my SER SPECV and im only running like mid 14's all motor, and he could not keep up and i had to ask if it was a redline and he said yes i was very suprised because i honestly thought they were goin to be faster than they are....i saw the vid on here about the car running 14.70 in the 1/4 and thats respectful but then i saw that my car, numbers wise is faster at the track than a stock SS or ION but i cant wait to see what aftermarket has for the SS before i buy one........i will look at RKSPORTS right now

Yah there is no way that a 175 hp SER SPEC V will beat an SS without mods...unless you race someone that misses 3rd gear...it all depends on preference...i bought an SS because i liked the way it looked and of course the supercharged engine and all the other goodies that came with it and no matter what anybody said it wasnt going to change my mind...its all up to you
ok so o like the cobalt but i think im going to super the se-r SPECV, just because the # are going to be close to the 280whp.....9lb of boost....but i love the cobalt but i dont want to do what i did with the sentra and buy one and have all the problems in the world when you modd it...this car has been a pain in the *** when its not running right but when it is ION and SS watch.......just kidding but i want to know if you guys have had any problems with the car even monir thing like door molding, headlight fogging up.......but i still want one because its bow-tie power!

Yeah your not thinking right.... If you put 300hp on a rollerskate it wont beat an evo, and if you get 280 going to that nissan you will spin the wheels foreverrrrrrrrr, my buddy did it with his SI, crazy HP but no way to get it at the ground. EVO and STI still beat you
If you dump enough money into anything you can make it fast.
The spec v is 2.5 litres correct? Well with a turbo and 25% more displacement I am sure that it could be a great car. I am not a huge nissan fan but they seem like nices cars whenever I rode in one.
I wouldn't expect a turbo 2.5 nissan to be to far off from a SRT-4 since they are the same displacement setup.
This I do *not* believe. You would have to be a serious engine builder and not 't have to abide by the EPA/CARB rules.

8psi will be running 289whp and 282lbtq
i don't understand whoever said the redline can't be faster than the SS. it's got the same exact engine. the only difference is that the overall car (the redline) weighs 200 pounds less. wouldn't that make it faster?
Adam (silver redline above) and I raced our cars (both stock) and they were dead even as far as performance is concerned.
It's a driver's race for sure. Both cars will scoot even more with a little motor work.
I love both the redline and the SS cobalt for different reasons.
Im just anxious to start building the motor ASAP. My best friend of 22 years' dad is one of the main engineers for GM performance division. He used to be the head of GM powertrain, then Fiat in italy before moving back to detroit to work. I know where to get the parts, but he will know which combination works best for he knows the motor forwards and backwards. I'll keep you all posted.
