killed a ford

me and one of my friends have wanted to race for awhile, and he also thought he could crush me because his 96 ford taurus has a 3.0L V6 which is suppose to have 200hp and he just got new plugs and wires and a new air and fuel filter, he beat me off the line but after my tires stopped spinning i caught up to him and passes him with ease only being in 2nd gear with my 2005 2.2L cobalt auto, i beat him in wat had to be a 1/2 mile but atleast 2 car lengths, he said it was a good race but he could have done better if his car wasn't a 4dr

kill: 1996 Ford Taurus GL 3.0L V6

and you could of done better with an SS S/C cobalt and thats only a 2.0 haha. I really dont like how people always say things like that. If you choose to race your car then your racing your car. But dont put factors in that dont exist. thats my rant : ) haha

Yea the only way to get the traction control to turn off is by putting the e-brake on. There isnt a fuse or anything to remove that I am aware of to disable this stupid feature. That was one of my first questions once i got my car was how can i turn off the traction control, is there a button or something and the dealer was like nope cant turn it off

Not if you just pull it up one notch. Putting it in first also works. My first car was an auto so I learned a few tricks... moved on to the real tranny now, haha, jp
