I dont believe changing the intercooler is going to increase the performance as much as you think it will.

Changing intercoolers is like changing charge pipes. Its more for insurance than gaining power.

False, the only benefits of changing the stock intercooler is better temp recover (limited performance gain) and a metal endtank is less likely to split.

Can't say that I've actually looked at them, maybe this weekend after I change my drivers side axle I'll go do a few pulls.

I've heard aside from end tanks being cheap, that our inter oilers actually do a good job with hp levels under 450.
Ecaulk- good luck on the axel, you don't hear of them needing changed often.

Colorado roads suck *****, and its clicking at me in reverse. I'd rather replace it way before it becomes a serious issue than have the axle explode.

Well I guess my car is just slow then. Wish I had one of the race cars you guys have so I could have pulled away from a 330hp STI like it was nothing.

You do realize your car should be around 310whp and its significantly lighter than a STi? So you should be walking them. What gear did you start in for the 40 roll?

Not sure where you guys are getting this huge weight difference but with me in it my car weighs 3380. The 07 STI weighs 3351 without a driver so a 150lbs-ish weight difference? And I'm starting in 2nd gear like I should be.

I ran a full bolt on and tuned 2980lbs race weight LNF car the same night (400lbs difference between our cars) and he only put 1 & half cars on me from a 40 roll and half a car from a 60 so for what I have done and the extra weight in my car I think it does ok.

Catless and mufflerless (both decent WR) and you're sitting at a RW of 3380lbs? Are you 380lbs yourself?

FWIW, my car tips the scales at 3025 with a full tank of gas and some work stuff in the trunk.

When I had my R I smashed my intercooler and rad. I threw a stock one on and lowered the boost. I had to pull around 3° timing switching from a ZZP intercooler back to a stock one. When I have tuned guys who just add a new intercooler no other mods I usually get a couple degrees more timing from the increased efficiency
