my best friend has a ms6 and it is a pretty fast and fun car, but he has had tranny issues and one day just cruising home it freaking thru a rod and the engine bay caught on fire. thankfully it was all taken care of under warranty but he is selling that thing ASAP. me and him have had some fun from a roll and i stay right with him until very top end where he starts to slightly pull away. he has an intake, turbo back 3" exhaust & upgraded turbo. i wish he'd keep it but after all these issues with it, it is best for him to get rid of it while he still can.

wtf are you talking about? Some of the problems are directly related to ford, most are to mazda. The ms6 doesn't use a b3000. mazda has become the company that build cars that have great features, and good power for the money stock, but almost no potential otherwise. The rx8 can't handle any decent power on stock internals, the ms6's are having so many issues its rediculous, the msp was the worst thing ever when it came to power, and the list goes on. Mazda hasn't had a great aftermarket car since the rx7 ended, that's all im saying and it is completely true.

Last time I checked they were still making the Miata, err MX-5.

ahh true. The miata has decent aftermarket potential.

keep in mind im talking about straight line performance too though. I should have been more specific, the rx8 handles amazingly, as does the miata, and both have insane road racing potential. Straight line performance wise i just find mazda has such sketchy results in the aftermarket community that i would never touch one.

there is a guy about 15 minutes south of me that has a shop full of those midgets. him and his brother would swap V8s in them. low 12s is what they run. unfortunately they dont do that anymore, but they do have tons of those midgets left

Wow a quick google search shows a lot of differential problems with these cars and unless they're running at least 93 octane, they loose 75-100 hp above 4000 rpm!!! :O

i sat in the speed 6 at the auto show, and torched one on the highway not too long ago.. i was equally unimpressed both times. the only car i would consider from mazda would be the spped 3, or a regular one just to keep stock and drive to work. the speed 6 is weak, and i think we can all agree that the rx-8 was one of the most disappointing cars ever made.

whats funny is that the speed 3 hast he same engine and almost never blows up. Since the car came out i can count 2 or 3 ms3 that took a ****, all in cold weather, and at least 10 ms6 that blew up already. Then again theres a ms6 running full bolt ons tune and a big turbo running 12.5 a/f ratio for over 25k miles...still putting along great.

the problem with the 3/6 is the ecu and how lean it runs during the cold. The first upgrade should be a fuel pump. my car has seen abuse, runs fast at the track for wht it is, and has yet to blow. In march its going to the 1/4 on a 26in slick to go for some low 12 on 4 perfomrance parts. Intake/turbo back exhaust/upgrade top mount ic/fuel pump. The car is pushing out well over 300 whp with 4 mods, you simply can't beat that for a sub 25k car
